Next Step for FIA World Rally Championship
The Secto Automotive Rally Finland 2022 is slated to begin on Thursday with 45 cars ready to compete for the victory. There are a bunch of quality drivers so the focus will be on a couple of drivers that can be in the mix to be victorious. Each day has a different track so it will be interesting to see who has some advantage here.
Let’s check the latest motorsports news, stats, reports, and motorsports odds for Secto Automotive Rally Finland. We’ve plenty of picks and predictions for you to consider.
Rovanpera Looking to Extend the Lead
Finland’s Kalle Rovanpera is the clear-cut leader in terms of the 2022 World Rally Championship standings with 175 points, which is 83 points ahead of any other driver. He already has five different victories in 2022, winning the Rally Sweden, Croatia Rally, Rally de Portugal, Safari Rally and Rally Estonia.
With five wins in the first seven events, it seems to be Rovanpera and then the rest of the competition.
British Team Trying to Take the Next Step
The team being led by Craig Breen is outside of the top 15 spots in the World Rally Championship. His team for this event includes Gus Greensmith, Adrien Fourmaux and Pierre-Louis Loubet.
They are certainly a dark horse that can be in the mix of things throughout this entire event. This team has a shot of making some noise throughout the four days in Finland and they have a great chance of dominating the field.
Secto Automotive Rally Finland 2022 History
Scott Martin, and Toyota Gallo (Racing WRT) were the overall winners in the 2021 version of the event. Rovanpera, who has won six of the last 13 WRC events, was running fourth here last year when he crashed. He is bidding to become the first Finn to win this event since Esapekka Lappi in 2017.

Secto Automotive Rally Finland 2022 Prediction
With 45 different drivers heading this four-day racing event, it is not easy to predict a winner. However, this seems to be Rovanpera’s event to lose. He has won all but two events this year and the different courses seem to be right in his wheelhouse, especially in the latter days of the Secto Automotive Rally on Saturday and Sunday.
With an almost insurmountable lead in the standings, Rovanpera can really separate even more from the rest of the pack. It’s hard to see a situation in which he and his team are not in the mix for the winning team in this event as he has far and away been the best driver in the Rally1 circuit this year.
