The 2025 Formula 1 season is set to be a thriller, with multiple contenders eyeing the championship. With new team dynamics, rising stars, and shifting performances, the title race is more unpredictable than ever. Can McLaren maintain its momentum, or will Ferrari and Red Bull reclaim dominance? We break down the top contenders and dark horses while analyzing the latest F1 betting lines ahead of an action-packed season.

Top 4 Best Bets To Win 2025 F1 Drivers Title
1. The Favorite: Can We Trust Lando Norris?
- Lando Norris (McLaren): +160

Is Lando Norris worth our Formula One bets at +160? This implies a 38.5% chance he wins. Some may say he’s got a better shot than that seeing how McLaren, as they won last year’s constructors’ title, has the best car. Still, Norris did come up short plenty of times last year.
McLaren had the fastest car for most of the 2024 season. Yet, Norris only won two of the final seven races and three of the final 10. He also failed to finish on the podium in half of these. But maybe the “party boy”, who is just 25, has matured during the offseason. Maybe he can handle the pressure of being the man to beat.
2. The Contenders: Will This Finally Be Ferrari’s Year?
- Max Verstappen (Red Bul): +275
- Charles Leclerc (Ferrari): +450
- Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari): +550
- Oscar Piastri (McLaren): +700
The final season of the current regulations usually means the most exciting time for F1 fans. Given the Formula 1 championship odds, we concur. Any of these four drivers could win the title, realistically speaking. They all have plenty of motivation to do so, with Max Verstappen looking to tie Michael Schumacher’s record of five straight world titles.
Verstappen’s Red Bull lagged last season, and the loss of lead engineer Adrian Newey may further complicate his situation. However, he’s the clear-cut top driver of his team, unlike what Ferrari has. Lewis Hamilton may look to prove that he can still win a world title. Doing so will give him sole possession of the most driver’s titles (currently tied with Schumacher).
Charles Leclerc is the better Ferrari driver but will also need consistency. If he shows up with the form he displayed in the final third of last season, he’s a good bet to win at +450.

Last but not least is Oscar Piastri. We don’t expect him to win as he’s the ‘1B’ in McLaren. But keep an eye on him, as we could have another Hamilton vs Rosberg scenario as he looks to prove he is just as sharp as his favored teammate.
Bet On: Charles Leclerc (+450)
3. The Dark Horses: Enticing Odds Worth Monitoring
- George Russell (Mercedes): +1400
- Liam Lawson (Red Bull): +6600
- Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes): +6600
- Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin): +9000
This tier is worth keeping an eye on, if anything. We still don’t recommend betting on anyone here. George Russell may make things interesting now that he’s Mercedes’s clear-cut top driver. But if we had to make an F1 prediction, our money is on Fernando Alonso to make noise.
Formula One’s longest-tenured and oldest driver fell off last season. But his renaissance in 2023 proves he has some left in the tank. Aston Martin also acquired Newey from Red Bull, and F1 rumors suggest they will make a play for Verstappen next year. If we’re optimistic, Aston Martin will contend this season. So at 90/1, Alonso is not the worst longshot bet.
Bet On: Fernando Alonso (+9000)
4. Everyone Else: Save Your Money Except…
- Carlos Sainz Jr. (Williams): +10000
- Pierre Gasly (Alpine): +10000
- Alex Albon (Williams): +10000
- Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls): +50000
- Esteban Ocon (Haas): +50000
- Lance Stroll (Aston Martin): OTB
- Jack Doohan (Alpine): OTB
- Oliver Bearman (Haas): OTB
- Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls): OTB
- Niko Hulkenberg (Sauber): OTB
- Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber): OTB
Don’t bet on any of these drivers, except maybe for Carlos Sainz Jr. in his new team. Williams still has a long way to go to be considered a threat. But we can’t ignore the multiple-time race winner’s ability to come out of nowhere and win. At 100/1, Sainz may be worth a sprinkle.
With that said, monitor the rookies.
They are Kimi Antonelli and Liam Lawson (from the tier above), Oliver Bearman, Jack Doohan, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Isack Hadjar, all off the board, given how we know very little about them.
A rookie has never won the F1 driver’s title. But Hamilton came close in 2007 by finishing one point behind Kimi Raikkonen. Who could pull off something similar? Keep updated with the F1 news.
