Monday’s the least ambitious day of the week so it’s only fitting to align it with a modest multi-sport parlay. And with the NHL’s playoff action officially underway, the natural thing to do is to bet on some playoff hockey. Below we’ll be taking a quick look at the St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche first-round playoff pairing and how you should bet online on it. But before we do, let’s mulch over the Detroit Tigers vs Seattle Mariners MLB contest.

The Detroit Tigers look to bounce back in Game 1 of their three-game series against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. The Tigers have lost two of three and are steadily falling down the American League Central rankings, currently sitting at No. 4 in the division with a 14-26 record. Unfortunately for the Tigers, they get to face off against the Mariners, who enter with a 21-20 record and a three-game winning streak. Naturally, the MLB odds have pegged Seattle as the favorite straight up. However, the money line isn’t all that appealing here. Instead, sportsbook bettors should consider the 7½-run over/under. Here’s why.
Neither the Mariners nor the Tigers will have an ace on the mound. Detroit will start right-hander Casey Mize, who’s 2-3 with a 4.19 ERA. Opposite him is lefty Yusei Kikuchi, who’s 1-2 and has a 4.30 ERA. With that kind of talent on the mound, you can expect the total to go plenty over.
If you’re still on the fence, consider the following. In Detroit’s last 15 games, the total has gone over 10 times, and in their last 12 against an American League opponent, the total has gone over nine times. Lastly, the total has gone over in six of the Mariner’s last nine games.
MLB Pick: Mariners 6, Tigers 5
St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche (Monday)
When: 10 p.m. ET
Where: Ball Arena, Denver, CO
NHL Team Totals Odds: St. Louis Blues: 2½ (+120) OVER || 2½ (-160) UNDER
This time tomorrow the puck will be dropped on a campaign with one goal:

The Stanley Cup playoffs are officially underway and the St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche first-round pairing is bound to kick things off the right way. The series kicks off this Monday night with the Avalanche coming in as heavy favorites to take out the West Division’s fourth seed. Both teams come in red hot. The Blues have won the last three in a row while Colorado is undefeated in its last five.
That’s not all the Avalanche bring with them, though, as they enter with the league’s best scoring offense (3.52 goals per game). If the Blues are going to have any shot of staying alive in Monday’s game, they’ll need to put up at least three goals against the Avs. Fortunately for St. Louis, it has managed this exact feat four times already during the regular season. Therefore, bettors can bank on St. Louis going over on the NHL team totals line this Monday.
NHL Playoff Pick: Avalanche 5, Blues 3
