The Tampa Bay Rays successfully avoided a sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees and are now set to face off against the Big Apple once more. The New York Mets enter the interleague contest riding a seven-game winning streak, eager to get off to a solid start in their three-game series.
Tyler Glasnow, RHP, gets the start for Tampa Bay. He enters with a 4-2 record as well as a 2.37 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP through 49 innings pitched. Opposite him is LHP David Peterson, who’s 1-3 withs a 5.54 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP through 26 innings.
Although they’ve hit a rut, the Rays are the all-around better team. They enjoy a sizable advantage on the mound Friday and are much better at bringing in runs. Currently, they rank 13th in the MLB in runs scored while the Mets rank 30th. Tampa Bay will ride out this advantage en route to covering Friday’s MLB run line.

Things got a *little* heated between Tony Ferguson and Beneil Dariush at the #UFC262 press conference.
— MMAFighting.com (@MMAFighting) May 14, 2021
The headlining fight of UFC 262 leaves something to be desired, but the pairing between Tony Ferguson and Beneil Dariush helps fill that void.
Ferguson hasn’t looked like his former self in his last two outings, both of which he’s lost. The most recent was a unanimous decision loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 256 preceded by a TKO at the hands of Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. All in all, Ferguson has built up a solid reputation as one of the promotion’s best brawlers and is known for his unpredictability and his unconventionality.
Before those back-to-back losses, Ferguson had mounted a 12-fight win streak with the UFC. Although we never saw him go toe-to-toe against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ferguson is one of the most respected fighters currently on the roster. The fact that he’s an underdog ahead of this bout makes taking this veteran quite lucrative.
Beneil Dariush is a UFC veteran in his own right, fighting with the promotion since 2014. The Iranian-born fighter enters with a 20-4 professional record as well as a six-fight win streak. Dariush’s most recent outing was a split decision win over Carlos Diego Ferreira. Although he’s been in the UFC for quite some time, Dariush has failed to make a significant splash. A dominant win over Ferguson this Saturday would certainly do so.
UFC Pick: Ferguson via TKO
