Mondays are hated for a reason. However, hitting a multi-sports parlay would certainly make any Monday better. For that reason, we’ve gone ahead and lined up this eye-catching parlay to help get your week started off on the right foot. So how exactly are we going to turn this day around? Take a look at these sports betting picks and find out.
New York Islanders vs Buffalo Sabres (Monday)
When: 7 p.m. ET
Where: First Niagara Center, Buffalo, NY
TV: Local Broadcasts
Stream: NHL TV
NYI 🆚 BUF
— x – New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) May 3, 2021
The New York Islanders go on the road to face the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. New York enters this match riding a two-game winning streak but is 2-3 in their last 5 overall. The Sabres on the other hand have lost the last four in a row and six of seven. Monday’s NHL betting odds are pegging New York as a -250 favorite on the moneyline, creating a perfect opportunity to start this parlay off.
You see, the Islanders come in with some momentum. Not only did they pick up two straight wins over the New York Rangers, they managed to shut them out 7-0 in the series. Buffalo not only lost two straight to the Rangers, but were outscored 20-8 in their last four as well. The stars have aligned and it’s clear New York should have no problems covering the spread.
Pick: New York Islanders -250
Los Angeles Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs (Monday)
When: 7:40 p.m. ET
Where: Wrigley Field, Chicago
TV: Local Broadcasts
Stream: MLB TV
The Los Angeles Dodgers were in a massive slump and everybody knew it. After their brilliant start to the season, Los Angeles went 4-10 through the last 14. Notwithstanding that slump, the most recent 16-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers suggest that slump is well behind the Dodgers.
Now with LA headed to Chicago to take on the Cubs, we can fully expect the recovering Dodgers to cover Monday’s -1½-run spread. After all, the Cubs are 12-16 on the year, are 2-7 in their last nine and rank 28th in the league in team ERA. Expect the Dodgers to come out swinging and deliver a beating to the ailing Cubs.
Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -200
UFC 262: Alves vs Ismagulov (May 15)
When: Main Card: 10 p.m. ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas
Stream: ESPN+/UFC TV
BREAKING: The Octagon heads to Houston! 🚀
— UFC (@ufc) March 19, 2021
UFC 262 will be held in two weeks and will be the promotion’s next PPV event. Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler may not be the biggest names in MMA, but they should still deliver a spectacle. Whether or not you should dish out the $60+ to watch it is another matter entirely. Nevertheless, we’re not here to talk about the PPV but rather an early prelim fight that you can take to the bank.
Rafael Alves is a Brazilian MMA fighter with a 19-9 record who was supposed to make his UFC debut back in February against Pat Sabatini. However, Alves claims he suffered food poisoning, which led to him weighing in a record 11½ pounds overweight (157.5). Now, the Brazilian is finished with the featherweight division and will be moving up to 155 to face off against none other than Damir Ismagulov.
Unfortunately for Alves, Ismagulov has fought three times with the UFC and has won all three bouts. The last time the Russian tasted defeat was when Barack Obama was still in office. Granted, the UFC odds know this too well since they’re favoring Ismagulov -550 ahead of their May 15 fight. Nevertheless, this prediction helps us boost the odds on this parlay.
