Irving is scoring 26.1 points per game while also dishing out 4.7 assists per contest. He’s scored 28 or more points in four of the last five games.
Durant is seventh in the league with 29.9 points per game, and he’s shooting 56% from the field. He had a season-high 16 rebounds to go along with 26 points, eight assists and two blocks in the win over Atlanta.
Ball Healthy, Leading Hornets Charge
The Charlotte Hornets were without their leader, LaMelo Ball, for much of the early part of the season, but the 21-year-old is back from the ankle injury that limited him to three games prior to mid-December. Ball is back with a vengeance though, averaging 26.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.9 assists this month, though the Hornets are still searching for consistent winning efforts.
Ball is coming off a near-triple-double in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. He’s shooting 39.6% from 3-point range since coming back from injury, connecting on multiple 3-point attempts in all but one game this season.
Forward P.J. Washington has been a consistent contributor for the Hornets, averaging 15.1 points and 4.9 rebounds. He had 25 points in Thursday’s win, giving him 22 or more points in three of his last four games.
Rookie center Mark Williams had a big game against the Thunder, notching a double-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 21 minutes off the bench. Williams is averaging 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in just 11.3 minutes a game this season.
