Timberwolves vs Nets Prediction, Game Preview, Live Stream, Odds and Picks
In the Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets‘ last games on Sunday, they each gave up a decent-sized lead. The Timberwolves had a 12-point lead late in the third quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers but lost 107-105 in a crucial game for their NBA playoffs odds.
The Nets beat the Utah Jazz 111-110, having had a 23-point lead in the fourth quarter. Brooklyn gave up 42 points in the final 12 minutes, letting their opponent make the game interesting late. On Tuesday, the Nets will host the Timberwolves in a game that will impact each team’s NBA lines for the playoffs.

Timberwolves 3-Game Slide
The season is nearing the end, and with three games left, the Timberwolves are in ninth place in the Western Conference. They are 1½ games from breaking into the seven and eight seeds, only having to win once in the play-in to make the playoffs. On the other hand, Minnesota is a game from 10th place, having to win two road games to make the playoffs.
That has made this recent three-game losing streak very concerning. The Timberwolves have lost to the fourth-seed Phoenix Suns, likely Play-In team Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers, who are near the bottom of the West. They lost all three games, failing to cover the NBA spreads, but only favored in one matchup.

The loss to the Trail Blazers was particularly tough. With Anthony Edwards having a great night, scoring 37 points with six assists, he passed up an important game-winning shot, letting Kyle Anderson take it. That did not go well, with Anderson taking a stumbling layup to lose the game.
As a collective, the Timberwolves struggled outside of Edwards. No other player had more than 13 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns finished with just eight on three shot attempts.
Nets Close to Clinching Playoffs
When the Nets chose to trade away Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, breaking the NBA news cycle, the team seemed to be going through a rebuild. While that may be true for next season, it is not for this. The pairing of Durant and Irving had done enough to put the Nets in a good position before they left the team, and the Nets could clinch the sixth seed in the East soon.
Since the trade deadline, Brooklyn has gone 11-13 with a net rating of -1.2. The team won’t be included in many NBA picks, having a streaky offense and confusingly poor defense.

44 Points – 6 Rebounds- 59% FG

However, the team is very close to making the playoffs and escaping the Play-In, and much of that is due to Mikal Bridges. Since joining the Nets from the Phoenix Suns, he has been a completely different player. The offense has been firmly put in his hands, and Bridges has succeeded, winning this week’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The same thing can be said about Spencer Dinwiddie, who has 10 10-plus assists games with the Nets and only two before being traded.

Nets vs Timberwolves Previous Game (Mar 10, 2023)
The Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves are in a similar place in their respective conferences but in different situations. The Nets are in sixth place for the Eastern Conference, an automatic playoff spot, 2½ games above seventh. The Timberwolves are seventh in the West but a half-game from fifth and 2½ from 13th.
The NBA lines are leaning toward the Timberwolves because they are the home team, but they struggled in their last game. Minnesota has been playing better overall, but they have still gone 5-5 against the spread (ATS) over the previous 10 games.
