Kyrie’s Foot Not the Only Thing Hurting in Dallas
NBA picks involving the Mavericks aren’t looking too pretty at the moment. The team hasn’t been looking good of late, and beyond just dealing with injuries, the rotations haven’t worked, and the losses have piled up since making the big trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
Any single NBA bet slip trusting Dallas might not look like the smartest thing to put out there right now. Nevertheless, this is a must-win for the Mavericks as they take on a Spurs team that is lottery bound.
Mavericks Seeking Road Success
With a 1-4 record in their last five games, the Mavericks have been really bad recently. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have missed time, and the other guys haven’t been able to step up enough to guide the team to wins.
While it’s just his second year at the helm, it may already feel like Jason Kidd is starting to wear out his welcome with the third team to give him a head coaching job.
NBA odds for the Mavs can’t even be discussed right now. Even though they reached the conference finals last season, things aren’t too sunny and rainbow-like now.
They don’t have either point guard from that squad or the defensive intensity that Dorian Finney-Smith was able to provide for them. Oh, how they miss Jalen Brunson as he tears things up in New York, where Kyrie no longer resides.
Against an 18-50 Spurs team, you would think a win would be easy. But, after seeing a couple of victories in a row, San Antonio actually has some confidence.
Spurs Gonna Spur
No matter what the record says, the Spurs will continue to play their hearts out every night. They haven’t given up on the season yet, which showed when they made a franchise-record number of threes in their last contest with the Orlando Magic.
Zach Collins has looked good as the starting center, while Jeremy Sochan and the other young players have seemed fully capable. Malaki Branham has a bright NBA future, while Devin Vassell is proving to be a serious two-way wing.
Also, picking up a win over the No. 1 Nuggets on Friday, San Antonio is in a nice groove. NBA news surrounding them is pretty positive at the moment. Unless they go on a six-game winning streak, they will be right up there with Detroit and Houston for that first-draft pick. Whoever winds up with it will get a heck of a player in Victor Wembenyama.

Mavericks vs Spurs Head-to-Head
So far this season, these teams have met twice. Dallas won the first meeting 126-125 and picked up a blowout victory in the more recent affair with a 142-116 tally.
In the all-time head-to-head, San Antonio has 35 more wins than Dallas. But, of late, it has been extremely one-sided.
After the Spurs swept the series during the 2018-19 NBA season, Dallas has gone 11-2 since. So let’s see what this next battle brings.

Mavericks vs Spurs Betting Lines
Mavericks vs Spurs Picks and Prediction
Betting online for this game would be a wise decision. The spread for the contest is set at 5½ in favor of Dallas. This is one of those NBA lines that a lot of folks will be able to get behind.
The Mavericks might be struggling, but they know they need to snap out of it. Desperation and a will to win can guide a team to occasional victories. Still, Kyrie and Luka or not, here these guys come.
On the other side, make sure to ride with the over. The scores and odds won’t change too much before tip-off if the injury report doesn’t, and there will be plenty of scoring. San Antonio is still a very young team and sometimes struggles to get enough defensive stops. The threes will be raining down in the AT&T Center this evening.
The Dallas is listed at -235 in our Vegas NBA lines. This means that if you wager $100 on Mavericks, you have a chance to win $43. Spurs are +195, offering a chance to win $195 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Dallas Mavericks a 70.15% chance to win, with San Antonio Spurs at 33.90%.

Mavericks vs Spurs Game Summary
Spurs vs Mavericks Previous ( Feb. 23, 2023)
I hate this game so much. On the one hand, we have the worst ATS team in the NBA as a 14½-point favorite. On the flip side, we could wager on the Spurs to cover for just the second time since Jan. 20. The Mavs are 2-3 ATS as favorites when the spread is higher than 10, while the Spurs are regularly ATS losers when the spread is around this range.
This is a prime matchup for the new duo in Dallas to get rolling, and I believe they are the lesser of two evils on Thursday. The Spurs just have too many injuries to an already sketchy roster.
