Top Seed Seeks Series End
After a frantic Game 4 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets, the series heads to Ball Arena for Game 5 on Tuesday.
The Timberwolves avoided their first franchise sweep with an overtime win, but it’s the Nuggets who dominate NBA betting markets, and rightfully so.
They are -9 at the sportsbook to take care of business at home and progress to the next round.
Timberwolves Need More
It was great to see the Timberwolves win a game in the series, but they almost choked with the game seemingly in the bag.
It’s a lack of focus when it counts that frustrates bettors with the Wolves, who are 20-23 on the road. Their lack of success on the road won’t help their cause on Tuesday, but we were surprised to see the opening NBA odds.
We expected the Timberwolves to be getting a double-digit line like the other underdogs on Tuesday, so online gambling markets are giving them some respect.
If the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards get hot, they could pull off the upset. Edwards came up with the big plays on Sunday and, after dropping 34 points, he should be confident.
“This series is not over. It’s the first to four, not to three. I promise you it ain’t over. Everyone’s counting us out. It ain’t over. I promise you,” Edwards said.
The Nuggets have won the last three meetings when favored by at least eight points, which is the main concern. If the Timberwolves want to keep it close, they’ll need to knock down their shots at a good clip.

Jokic Leading Nuggets
Nikola Jokic’s 43 points weren’t enough for the Denver Nuggets to sweep the series on Sunday, but the MVP candidate showed his complete skill set.
There were still times when the two-time MVP could have done more, but we can’t deny his effort to see his team succeed.
Backing it up with another big performance won’t be easy, but there is confidence for the Nuggets to win 4-1 with NBA lines. They are -9 at home, which is a favorable line given what it could have been.
The Nuggets are the best home team in the NBA with a 36-7 record. That doesn’t include against-the-spread records, but that should give bettors confidence. Playing well against the Nuggets at Ball Arena is hard, and we’re not sure the Timberwolves are mentally that strong.
We expect sport betting markets to take money for the Nuggets, so the line could move to double digits.

However, the Nuggets covered the previous four spreads, including three in a row on their home court.

Nuggets vs Timberwolves Previous Game(April 23,2023)
Although the Minnesota Timberwolves were hoping otherwise, Game 3 didn’t go any different than the rest of this series has. The Denver Nuggets worked Minnesota for a third straight game to take a 3-0 series lead.
Are the Nuggets a good bet in the sportsbook to get the sweep? Let’s take a closer look at the betting lines for Game 4.
It’s always hard to predict a sweep but this series looks over. The NBA news headlines all point to Minnesota showing some fight as their backs are against the wall but what’s different in Game 4? They needed to win Games 1, 2 and 3 too but couldn’t come close.
Denver has all the momentum and all of the tools to put this series away. They’re favored by 3.5 here and are the right choice for your NBA picks.
