The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will battle it out in an all-city brawl on Tuesday. The Clippers are having a much better season overall, but the Lakers are catching up after a slow start.
Will the Lake Show beat the Clippers for the first time since 2020, or will the Clippers extend their winning streak against the Lakers to double digits?
Let’s check the latest NBA news, stats, injury report, and NBA lines for Clippers vs Lakers. We’ve got plenty of NBA picks for you to consider.
Clippers Coming of Back-to-Back Wins
The Los Angeles Clippers earned a big 112-98 win on the road this past Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks in Texas. The late-game defense was impressive, and the Mavs scored just 19 points in the fourth quarter. It was their second win in a row after a close call against the lowly San Antonio Spurs 131-126.
Kawhi Leonard led both games in scoring, and the Clippers are hoping for another big game from the superstar.
I am a bit worried about the Clippers’ against-the-spread (ATS) record this season and their weak -10.60% return on investment (ROI). They are doing worse than the Lakers in that regard.
But I just can’t ignore how long the Clippers have been beating up on the Lakers. Three years is a long time not to win a game in a heated rivalry, and it’s not like the Lakers had bad teams over that span.
On the Injury front, the Clippers will be without Luke Kennard and John Wall for Tuesday’s game against the Lakers.
Lakers 0-10 ATS vs Clippers Since 2020
I have to admit I had no idea that this “rivalry” had fallen on such hard times that the Lakers are going on three years without a victory. The last time the Lakers walked out of their own building with a win over the Clippers was July 7, 2020.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the Lakers failed to cover any of those losses over the previous three seasons and are on an 0-10 ATS losing streak in this series. The Lakers were actually favorites in five of those games.
Getting back to the present, the Lakers are on a modest two-game winning streak with underdog victories over the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers over the weekend.
The Lakers are also still dealing with nagging injuries to LeBron James and Lonnie Walker IV. The latter will miss Tuesday’s game, while James is questionable with an ankle issue. Newly acquired Rui Hachimura will also miss Tuesday’s game.

Clippers vs Lakers Head-to-Head
This will be the third time this season that the Lakers and Clippers play. The Clippers won the first two games and covered as favorites. In fact, the Lakers haven’t won a game in this rivalry since 2020, SU or ATS.

Clippers vs Lakers Picks and Prediction
The Clippers have owned the Lakers for three years, and we don’t see any reason why that trend won’t continue on Tuesday. While James has been a wrecking ball the last few weeks, he is hobbled a bit with his ankle injury. We expect him to play in this LA vs. LA clash, but he is not at 100%.
Los Angeles Clippers are listed at -190 in our Vegas NBA lines. If you wager $100 on the Clippers, you can win $53. Los Angeles Lakers are +163, offering a chance to win $163 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives The Clippers a 65.52% chance to win, with the Lakers at 38.02%.

Lakers vs Clippers Previous Game (Nov. 09, 2022)
The Los Angeles Lakers get most of the headlines and probably always will. It’s just the nature of things when you’re one of the most successful franchises in sports. But they’ve been second fiddle to the Los Angeles Clippers in the head-to-head for a handful of years now. The second of four meetings between the intracity rivals takes place Wednesday night.
Regardless of who’s on top, a Lakers-Clippers clash always presents a fun time to make a bet online.
Keep an eye on the status of James, Walker, and Beverley, but expect all three to be back. That gives the Lakers a good chance. Despite their poor shooting in the first meeting this season, they still lost by only six. That was during the Lakers’ abysmal shooting start, something they’ve quietly corrected, to a degree.
Aside from their win over the Cavaliers, which required a rally from 13 down in the closing minutes, the Clippers haven’t defeated any top-tier teams. The Lakers, meanwhile, have played the most difficult slate in the NBA thus far, according to multiple rankings systems.
Again, if James and company return, this seems like a night they’ll put a few things together against a good-but-incomplete Clippers team. If they don’t, George should have a field day.
