Memphis on Four-Game Win Streak
The Memphis Grizzlies go for a fifth straight win when they host the Detroit Pistons for a second matchup in a week on Friday night. Memphis has won its last four – including a win over the Pistons on Sunday – and is a half-game out of first place in the Southwest Division, trailing the New Orleans Pelicans.
Detroit has alternated between wins and losses over the last five games, including a road loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday, and is in last place in the Central Division, 4½ games behind the fourth-place Chicago Bulls.
Memphis seems like the easy pick here, but make sure you read our NBA betting preview of this matchup before you decide how you want to wager on this game.
Let’s check the latest NBA odds, stats, injury report and NBA lines for Pistons vs Grizzlies. We’ve plenty of NBA betting odds for you to consider.
Pistons Struggling With Consistency
It doesn’t help that the Detroit Pistons don’t have their star guard Cade Cunnigham, who is out with a shin injury, but the team is having some trouble with consistent efforts over the last few weeks. Cunningham hasn’t played since Nov. 9, taking 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.0 assists out of the Detroit lineup.
Forward Bojan Bogdanovic is leading Detroit in scoring, averaging 20.4 points per game and shooting 43.6% from 3-point range. Bogdanovic is coming off a five-point performance in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, getting ejected from the game after playing 20 minutes and shooting 1-of-8 from the field.
Rookie guard Jaden Ivey has been playing well, averaging 15.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. He’s become more of a distributor with Cunningham sidelined, showing his versatility.
Guard Killian Hayes has also seen his playing time go up with Cunningham out, and he’s coming off one of his better games as a pro. Hayes had 17 points, 12 assists, six rebounds, and two steals in Wednesday’s loss to New Orleans.
Morant on a Roll for Grizzlies
The play of guard Ja Morant has been powering the Memphis Grizzlies to their current spot just behind the New Orleans Pelicans in the Southwest Division. Morant had his second triple-double of the season and seventh of his career in Wednesday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, becoming the franchise leader in the category, moving past Marc Gasol.
“It’s an honor, big time,” Morant said after Wednesday’s win. “There’s a lot of great players (who have) been in this organization. It’s crazy. It’s something you’ve got to earn, but I feel like my teammates are right up there with me. It’s my name, but without those guys, it wouldn’t be possible.”
Morant had 26 points, a career-high-tying 13 rebounds, and 11 assists in the win. He’s averaging 28.3 points, 7.6 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals this season, ranking in the league’s top 10 in the first two categories.
Forward Dillon Brooks has also been contributing to the Grizzlies’ success, averaging 20.1 points over his last 10 games. Brooks is seeing more shots come his way with guard Desmond Bane sidelined with a toe injury, as he’s averaging 17.8 points for the season.
Forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been a presence on both ends of the floor, averaging 3.1 blocks per game and 18.6 points. Jackson had five blocks in Wednesday’s win, showing the form that had him lead the NBA in blocks per game a season ago.

Pistons vs Grizzlies Game Summary
Grizzlies vs Pistons Previous Game (Dec. 04, 2022)
The Pistons are playing better basketball (3-3 in their last six) and when they’ve lost, it’s often been close. Eight of their last nine defeats have been by single digits, although the one that didn’t result in a 30-point setback.
With Bane still out and Adams a question mark, the Grizzlies won’t be at their best. Morant might just carry them to an easy win, but an energized Detroit team should put up a good fight. Take the hosts to beat the spread and consider the under – the losing team has averaged 96 points in the last eight meetings.
