Wizards Try To Stay Hot vs Visiting Grizzlies
Washington on Three-Game Win Streak
The Washington Wizards go for a fourth straight win when they play host to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
Washington is coming off a home win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night and is in second place in the Southeast Division, one game behind the first-place Atlanta Hawks.

Memphis has won two in a row and is atop the Southwest Division standings, leading the second-place Dallas Mavericks by 1½ games.
These teams played a close one in Memphis just a week ago, so this should be another good game. Check out our NBA betting preview to help you with how you should wager.

Morant Leading Early Grizzlies Charge
The Memphis Grizzlies showed their potential last season with a trip to the Western Conference semifinals, and they’re itching to get back to that point. Injuries continue to be troublesome, but Memphis has won five of six, with All-Star guard Ja Morant leading the way.
Morant is coming off 28 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in Friday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He’s averaging 28.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists, though reports say he’s doubtful for this game due to left ankle soreness.
Guard Desmond Bane has continued his ascent to stardom, averaging 24.7 points, including 28.0 over the last 10 games, shooting 51.4% from 3-point range. Unfortunately, Bane is also considered doubtful for this contest, as he’s reportedly dealing with right-toe soreness.
If Morant and Bane can’t go, it will mean players like Tyus Jones (10.5 points), Dillon Brooks (15.2 points) and Brandon Clarke (10.1) will have to play bigger roles in the Grizzlies’ offense,
Wizards Playing Team Ball In Win Streak
The Washington Wizards are starting to put things together, even with leading scorer Bradley Beal sidelined for the last four games due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols. After back-to-back losses in which they averaged just 91.5 points, the Wizards have averaged 114 points over their current three-game winning streak, including scoring 121 in Saturday’s win over the Utah Jazz.
“I think we were better at making that extra pass, that extra play for the teammate,” Kristaps Porzingis said after Saturday’s win. “It’s starting to click a little bit.”
Porzingis had 31 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s win, bouncing back after missing Thursday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks with a groin injury. Porzingis is averaging 20.2 points and 8.3 rebounds this season, recording double-doubles in five of his 12 games.
Forward Kyle Kuzma has been having a breakout season, averaging a career-best 19.1 points while also grabbing 7.7 rebounds a contest. Kuzma brings energy to the floor on both ends and had 36 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in Thursday’s win over Dallas with Porzingis and Beal both out.
After the Wizards’ big three, there are a lot of players that have been contributing in different ways. On Saturday night, it was forward Corey Kispert, who finished with 18 points, hitting all four of his 3-point attempts in the contest.

Grizzlies vs Wizards Head-To-Head
The Memphis Grizzlies won last Sunday’s matchup with the Washington Wizards at home, giving them two straight victories in the series. These teams split their season series a year ago, with the home team winning each time.
Last season’s win was Washington’s only victory against Memphis since the end of the 2018-19 season, and the Grizzlies have a 30-22 lead in the all-time series between the franchises. The NBA lines for Sunday are giving a slight edge to the host Wizards, with the Grizzlies possibly playing very shorthanded.
