Grizzlies on Two-Game Winning Streak
The Memphis Grizzlies try for a third straight win when they host the Miami Heat in a battle of second-place teams on Monday night. Memphis is coming off a win on the road against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday and is in second place in the Southwest Division, one game behind the first-place New Orleans Pelicans.
Miami has won four of its last five, including an overtime victory over the Boston Celtics on the road on Friday night, and is two games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the top spot in the Southeast Division. Both teams have been playing very well of late, so to help with your bet online on this contest, take a look at our in-depth preview of the matchup.
Let’s check the latest NFL picks, news, stats, injury reports, and NFL predictions for the Heat vs Grizzlies. We’ve plenty of NFL expert picks for you to consider.
Butler Returns To Help Heat Top Celtics
The Miami Heat have been playing well, but they got a boost on Friday with the return of forward Jimmy Butler, who had missed seven games with a sore right knee. Butler looked pretty good in his return, finishing with 25 points and 15 rebounds, and his presence boosted the team as well.
“Obviously having JB back is big time for us,” Miami guard Tyler Herro said after Friday’s overtime win. “He helps us in so many different ways.”
Butler is a do-everything player for the Heat, leading the team in scoring (21.2 points) while ranking second in rebounding (7.2) and assists (5.9). He also leads the team in steals (1.7) and is one of the better wing defenders in the league.
Center Bam Adebayo is having another All-Star season, averaging 21.0 points and 9.1 rebounds. Adebayo helped the team while Butler was sidelined as he averaged 25.5 points and 9.3 rebounds over the past eight games.
Herro, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, is in a starting role this season and playing well. He’s third on the team with 18.9 points per game while also contributing 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists and shooting 36.1% from 3-point range.
Grizzlies Tough To Beat At Home
The Memphis Grizzlies have used their home court to their advantage, going 8-2 at FedExForum heading into Monday’s meeting with the Miami Heat. Compare that to the 6-7 mark the team has away from home and it’s obvious the Grizzlies are much better playing in front of their fans.
Guard Ja Morant continues to make a case as one of the most dynamic players in the NBA. The 23-year-old is ninth in the league in scoring at 28.5 points per game while ranking eighth in assists with 7.5. He’s coming off a double-double in a win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, going for 33 points and 10 assists.
Forward Dillon Brooks was on the end of some of those assists on Sunday as he finished with 22 points, including five 3-pointers. Brooks is averaging 17.5 points per game and provides some solid wing defense.
Forward Jaren Jackson Jr. also had 22 points in Sunday’s win. Jackson has played in only eight games due to a foot injury, but he’s averaging 19.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocks.
