Can Sacramento Keep Climbing Western Conference Ladder?
The Minnesota Timberwolves continue their three-game road trip on Monday with a showdown against the Sacramento Kings. Both teams have put together multiple wins in a row heading into Monday as each tries to better their seeding with the end of the regular season approaching. The NBA lines list the Kings as four-point favorites at home to keep their hot streak alive.
Timberwolves Go for Fourth Straight Win
The Timberwolves suffered through a recent rough patch, losing five of six games and tumbling into the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference. However, they have turned things around with three straight wins leading into Monday. Those wins came against playoff teams – the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors.

Regarding this matchup, the Timberwolves are a tempting bet on the NBA point spread due to their 7-3 record against the spread (ATS) when playing on the road. Bettors are up 3.70 units, with the second-best record in the NBA during that time.
No significant injuries for Minnesota, with Matt Ryan the only player listed as questionable for Monday. The major NBA news regarding injured players is that star player Karl-Anthony Towns, who hadn’t played a game since November, returned last week. He looks good and hit a game-winner trey against the Warriors on Sunday.

Kings Still Have Shot at No. 1 Seed in West
With eight games left in the regular season for Sacramento, there is a slim chance the Kings could leapfrog both the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies for the top spot in the West. With back-to-back wins heading into Monday, Sacramento is doing all it can to climb the standings while there is still time.
There is one area in which the Kings need to do better: winning consistently at home. It’s weird for a team to struggle with, but the Kings have a losing record against the spread (18-20 ATS) on their home court. That works out to a return on investment of -9.56%, making them an attractive bet online for Monday.
The good news for the Kings is they are dealing with no significant injuries heading into the week. De’Aaron Fox is the only guy listed on the injury report and is questionable to suit up against Minnesota.

Timberwolves vs Kings Picks and Prediction
These teams’ home/away splits have me leaning toward the Timberwolves with my NBA picks for Monday’s game. Over their last 10 games, the T-Wolves dominate when on the road with a return on investment (ROI) of 33.64%. Combine their ATS heater with the return of Towns and you’ve got a team that may end the season on a heater.
Meanwhile, the NBA point spread trends do not favor the Kings and their -4.55% ROI in their last 10 home games and 1-3 ATS in their previous four.
