Three Games Remaining for Both Teams

New Orleans Still Jockeying for Position

The Memphis Grizzlies played their final home game of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday and came away with a win. Their playoff positioning is mostly set in stone as the No. 2 seed in the West.

However, the New Orleans Pelicans can still move around. The team has won seven out of its last nine games but flopped at home as a favorite against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

In case you haven’t been tracking the NBA news, the Pelicans can still move up or down in the standings, so their remaining games matter. Can they get the job done when the Grizzlies visit?

Grizzlies End Regular Season on Road

The Memphis Grizzlies are going to be ending the regular season with a ridiculously great 35-6 record in games played at home. That’ll be crucial as the playoffs get going.

In the meantime, they will be preparing to end the year out on the road, an area where they’ve delivered mixed results.

On the year, the Grizz are 15-23 in road games. Those who bet online have seen them go 3-5 in their last eight road games. Overall, the team has won nine of 11, but road games are a challenge for them.

They have been getting significant production from new addition Luke Kennard, who was brought in at the trade deadline in February. He has since knocked in over 50 percent of his 3-point attempts in Memphis, including 6 of 10 attempts against the Blazers.

With Dillon Brooks missing their game against Portland due to hip soreness, Kennard was given a larger role. Brooks is expected back into the rotation here but if you’re looking at the NBA odds, watch out for other starters resting.

Memphis is two games back of the top spot and two games up on third, so it probably isn’t moving around much.

Pelicans Prepping for Postseason Clinching

The New Orleans Pelicans stumbled in their last game but their chances of making it into the playoffs remain intact. They can guarantee themselves a spot in the play-in tournament with one more win or if the Dallas Mavericks lose another game.

There still is a path to the sixth seed as they are just a game back of the seventh and sixth place. Getting up to sixth would mean skipping the play-in tournament.

They’ll need to do so without Zion Williamson, who has missed significant time once again with an injury. Most people have been handicapping the Pelicans’ NBA betting lines without Williamson in the picture, so this is nothing new.

Fortunately for the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram has been phenomenal lately. Throughout March, he averaged 27.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.2 assists. Ingram is dominating in all areas of the floor and helping the Pelicans fly up the standings to get themselves in the postseason conversation.

Grizzlies vs Pelicans Picks and Prediction

The Pelicans are listed as five-point favorites in the sportsbook mostly because the expectation is the Grizzlies might rest someone. With the way that they’ve been playing lately and the fact that Memphis has struggled on the road, you can make a case for them here.

If the Grizz are resting any key players like Ja Morant, the Pelicans are the play. They’re at home, they’ve been hot and they need this game. The Grizzlies are likely to be less motivated. Take the Pelicans with your NBA picks.

New Orleans is listed at -220 in our Vegas lines. So, if you wager $100 on the Pelicans, there’s a chance to win $45. Memphis is +180 with a chance to win $180 on a $100 wager.

Two young star-studied teams in the Western Conference will meet as the New Orleans Pelicans travel to face the Memphis Grizzlies. While the Grizzlies were the “up and coming” team last year in the conference, the Pelicans may have taken their spot.

The Pelicans have won their last two games, beating the San Antonio Spurs 129-110 on Wednesday, even missing a key player. On the other hand, the Grizzlies have lost the last two, including a 113-109 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, missing late-game free throws.
