TD Garden Hosts East vs West Matchup
The Oklahoma City Thunder are seeking another upset win when they face the impressive Boston Celtics on Monday.
The Celtics are the double-figure favorites with NBA betting markets following a six-game win streak as they continue to justify their NBA Championship odds.
Let’s check the latest NBA odds, stats, injury reports, and NBA betting for Thunder vs Celtics.
Giddey Leading Thunder
Josh Giddey comes off his most impressive game of the year when leading the Thunder to a 145-135 win over the New York Knicks.
Despite entering as +5½-point underdogs in their last two games, they’ve won them both and they’re looking to cause the Celtics a headache.
Giddey had 24 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the victory, so he’s firing and another big performance could see the Thunder cover the +11 spread against the Celtics.
“Any time your name is within the company of (Chamberlain), one of the all-time greats, is special,” Giddey told ESPN. “But basketball is a team game, so if those things contribute to winning and helping my guys around me be better, then it makes it worth it.”
The Thunder are 7-5 against the spread with the sportsbook, so they’re doing enough to keep bettors happy and not many of those spread covers have been double-digits. The last time they were double-digit underdogs came against the Dallas Mavericks when covering +10½ in a 117-111 loss in overtime.
Beating the Celtics on the road won’t be easy, but they have an excellent recent record at covering the number. Oklahoma City is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and 7-2 in the last nine meetings at TD Garden.
Celtics Surging Forward
Expectations were high for the Celtics and that hasn’t changed after starting 10-3, including going 5-1 at home.
They looked excellent last week when beating the likes of Memphis, Detroit, and Denver, so they’re confident of beating the Thunder.
It hasn’t been as comfortable with spread-betting stats. They are 7-6 ATS, so they haven’t been a standout team to back. However, they have covered in four of their last five games and the only failure to cover came by one point.
Las Vegas lines have the Celtics at -11, which is a sizable number to cover. However, the last time they played at home, they defeated the high-powered Nuggets 131-112, so that’s a good sign for favorite players.
The Celtics come off a gritty win over the Pistons on the road.
“That was a chaotic, hectic game, and that’s what I thrive on,” Marcus Smart told reporters. “We were short-handed tonight, but a lot of guys stepped up and made it a real team effort.”

The Celtics are the better team, but we’re trusting the statistics and taking the Thunder to cover the +11 number.
They are always around the mark, and with Giddey playing well, he gives them another dimension.
Look for Giddey exotic options, including scoring a double-double, which can pay handsomely with bookmakers.
