Nets Seeking More Success
It was a one-sided affair when the Brooklyn Nets met the San Antonio Spurs earlier this month, so history could repeat itself.
Despite the 139-103 result, NBA odds have the Nets at only -5½ on the road against a Spurs team looking to end a five-game losing streak.
Let’s check the latest NBA odds, stats, injury reports, and NBA lines for Spurs vs Nets. We’ve plenty of NBA betting odds for you to consider.
Nets Welcome Durant
Kevin Durant is expected to play against the Spurs, and after losing to Boston and Oklahoma City, it’s a much-needed addition.
The Nets had been playing well with wins against New Orleans and Miami, but returning home didn’t inspire them to continue their winning streak.
Labeled as one of the more unattractive teams in the NBA, the Nets have been unable to fully capitalize on their talents. However, they are 27-15 and we expect the +12 advantage to improve.
The bettors haven’t had a great time backing the Nets consistently. They are 19-23-2 against the spread (ATS) after failing to cover the number in four of their last five games. It’s a big concern for bettors, which has been reflected in the sportsbook.
We expected the Nets to be around -9, especially after they have covered their last two games against San Antonio. However, there is trepidation with betting markets and that’s an obvious worry.
Spurs Defense in Tatters
The Spurs have allowed totals of 121, 131, 135, 144, and 132 in their last five games, which is embarrassing.
There is less and less defense being played in the NBA, but the Spurs have taken the memo a little too seriously. They rank 30th in defense, allowing 121.7 points per game, which is laughable.
It takes a concerted effort to play defense and the Spurs don’t seem capable of doing it, which is a big concern with the Nets on deck. The Nets rank 15th in offense, but with Durant back on the team, that should improve.
Despite their terrible form, the Spurs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games, but 0-2 in their last two.
They come off a 132-119 home loss to the Kings and Jakob Poeltl was trying to see the positives.
“I think we are all aware that this is a learning season for us,” Poeltl said. “Even for the guys that have a little bit more experience, a lot of us have different goals trying to do different things out there. It’s a learning experience for all of us.”
We don’t see why the Spurs are only +5½ underdogs with NBA betting markets. We would want a much bigger line for a team that plays only one side of the ball.

Nets vs Spurs Head-to-Head
The Nets have covered the last two spreads against the Spurs, including a 139-103 win as the -11½ favorite in January.
The Nets are 7-3 over the last 10 games but are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in San Antonio, so there is one betting angle for the Spurs.

Nets vs Spurs Picks & Prediction
We are jumping on the Nets, who are a great bet at -5½ and we expect that line to lengthen closer to game time.
The Nets are the much better team, and with no defense standing in their way, they could score 140+ points.
Because of the lack of defense, we’re locking in the over 232½ to include in NBA parlays.
Brooklyn is listed at -220 in our Vegas NBA lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Nets, there’s a chance to win $45. San Antonio is +180, offering a chance to win $180 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Brooklyn a 68.75% chance to win, with the Spurs at 35.71%.

Spurs vs Nets Previous Game (Jan. 02, 2022)
Teams with polar opposite records meet on Monday when the 24-12 Brooklyn Nets host the 12-24 San Antonio Spurs. While the Nets have been the hottest team in the NBA since November, the Spurs’ victories have been few and far between.
An outright upset feels almost absurd, but can the Spurs keep it close enough to cover on Monday?
