Are the New York Knicks the New Team to Beat in the NBA?
Remember Back in the Day When the Knicks Used to Stink? Well, How Do You Like Them Now?
It’s A Great Time to Be A Knicks Fan
Thirty-two. That’s the number of NBA games the New York Knicks have won this season, including its last five in a row, with the All-Star Weekend still a couple of weeks away.
No, I’m not making up stats just because I’ve been a Knicks fan since I was a kid. My team is balling, and there’s nothing any haters can do about it.

So how about that?
Gone are the days of dealing with the Knicks being the laughing stock and perennial nightmare of NBA picks and predictions experts. With a starting lineup that’s stacked to the brim with talent, including two starters for the upcoming All-Star game and even Tom Brady’s blessing at the start of the season, I dare anybody to step up and tell me the Knicks are not the hottest team in basketball right now!

It’s been a long time waiting, so before I dive into talking Knicks hoops and why they are where it’s at right now in the NBA, let me take a quick second to bask in the moment and send all haters a little cup of “No quit, all grit, close-knit” (IYKYK).
Now, somebody blast Nas’ New York State of Mind for me real quick.
KAT, Brunson, Hart, OG, Bridges, Everybody Is Balling
There are a couple of days that are probably edged in the minds of Knicks fans. The first was July 12, 2022, when Shams Charania, NBA news reporter, broke the news that New York was signing point guard Jalen Brunson to a 4-year, $104 million deal.

Following a contract extension in 2024, linking Brunson to the Knicks for the foreseeable future, especially considering the star PG stated: “I wanted to be here for the rest of my career. Winning trumps everything that I do individually.” it’s safe to say New York has got his man to go on a title run.
But wait a hot damn New York City minute! If you thought the Knicks were done after Brunson, then what about when NBA rumors became a reality this offseason and the Knicks brought in Karl Anthony-Towns, “Bodega KAT,” to take over the big man position up front?

With Brunson and KAT running the game for the Knicks alongside Josh Hart, aka the hardest working man in pro hoops, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and a bench that has depth upon depth of role players, the Knicks, led by coach Tom Thibodeaux are becoming the team nobody wants to face.

It makes sense that before the season started, the Knicks were already deemed the latest “Super Team” to pop up in the league.
If not, just ask Nikola Jokic.
Q: “Knicks hurt you guys this year. What makes them so tough?”
Nikola Jokic: “They’ve hurt us the last couple years. They’re playing really well. They’re well-coached…They know what they’re doing. They’re a really good team…Top 5 candidates for the title” pic.twitter.com/jX16jMplgK

Remember Jokic’s words: “Top 5 candidates for the title.”
Can the Knicks Run Up the East?
If we look at how the Eastern Conference continues to shape up, there’s plenty to talk about the NBA tonight.
Even if the Cleveland Cavaliers are running the show right now, ask any fan, and they’ll tell you that the betting odds of the East not running through New York or Boston are very, very slim.
Looking at the Boston Celtics’ BetUS Sportsbook’s NBA odds to win the Eastern Conference, currently at -105, Cleveland’s at +325, and New York’s at +500, it shouldn’t come as a shock if after the All-Star weekend odds begin to shift, especially if the Knicks continue playing the way they have.

A Knicks title run has been long overdue as Madison Square Garden, but with how this team is playing, the grit, and the overall aura, call me what you want, but I’m calling it right now: Knicks win the title on six.
