Bronny James Drops Career-High 30 Points: Is He Ready for an NBA Return?

LeBron James’ Son Delivered a Career Night, Leaving Fans Wondering if He’s Ready for the Big Stage

The Prince Has Arrived

Bronny James is creating plenty of NBA news despite not currently being on the Lakers’ active roster. Bronny is turning heads during his time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.

Fans are taking notice of Bronny James stats after the rook scored a career-high 30 points while hitting 13-of-23 shots and nailing three long-range attempts. Now for the bad news, the Lakers still lost 106-100 to the Valley Suns.

Bronny’s outing is sure to create plenty of rumors about whether the rookie is ready to jump back up to the NBA. It may be wise to pump the brakes a little bit on trying to rush Bronny’s career.

Bronny James Is Receiving Too Much Pressure

There is so much pressure on Bronny not just to perform, but be able to be LeBron James’ teammate as he finishes his legendary career. No other NBA rookie comes with this much pressure, especially someone with Bronny’s draft status of a late second-round pick.

It just feels like there’s been more pressure on Bronny than is necessary. LeBron increased the pressure on his son by going public with his desire to play alongside his son in the NBA.

The Lakers Have Only Increased the Spotlight on Bronny

LeBron then got mad for all the unwanted attention Bronny was receiving. Then there is the drama with Bronny initially not playing road games in the NBA G-League.

From my understanding, he’s only gonna play in the South Bay Lakers home games, that he’s only gonna kind of be a part-time G League player, and he’s not getting on United Airlines and going to fly and go see these other teams, play in these road games,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast on the Lakers’ initial plans for Bronny.

Let’s give Bronny time to develop in the G-League before bringing him back up to The Association. In an ideal world, Bronny can continue to improve in the G-League before returning to the Lakers’ active roster just in time for the team’s playoff run.

I’d imagine some wishful fans would be hammering the betting odds for the Lakers to win the NBA title in this scenario.
