The NBA preseason is a great time to watch teams prepare for the upcoming regular-season schedule and bettors get an excellent game to wager on this Friday.
On the card is the Miami Heat versus Memphis Grizzlies, who are expected to make deep runs.
Heat Looking to Bounce Back
The Miami Heat lost their opening preseason game against Minnesota, so they’re looking to bounce back against the Grizzlies.
It has been a tough time for the Heat, who have lost four of their last five, including three to the Boston Celtics during the NBA playoffs.
NBA betting markets still have them fancied to make a tilt at the Eastern Conference title, so they’re just going through the gears in the preseason.
Jimmy Butler and Victor Oladipo are likely to be sidelined against the Grizzlies, so finding scoring options in the paint could be tough. The Heat might opt to put up an incredible amount of three 3-pointers to secure the win.
Tyler Herro signed a four-year extension, which is a bonus.
“Tyler is an impact, multi-faceted player and we are excited to have him signed for the next five years,” Heat president Pat Riley said.
“His improvement every year since we drafted him has led to this day. We believe he will continue to get better.”
Grizzlies Doing Business
It has been business as usual for the Grizzlies, who are 2-0 in the preseason and look like they have a good chance of remaining unbeaten.
Preseason form should be taken with a grain of salt, but the early signs are good for the Western Conference title contenders.
They defeated the Milwaukee Bucks before handling the Orlando Magic at home. Getting another home game adds to their appeal and Ja Morant comes off a 22-point performance, which had the FedEx Forum crowd roaring.
Bettors should expect to see Morant for around 24 minutes, which could be a long enough stint to see the Grizzlies handle the Heat.
Betting online markets should have the home side favored to win and improve to 3-0.
Heat vs Grizzlies Head-to-Head
The Heat have a 28-23 advantage over Memphis, but it was the Grizzlies who won 105-90 in the latest meeting.
Memphis has won four of the last five.
