Suns 2021-22 NBA Season Recap

The Phoenix Suns have an excellent coaching staff, unselfish players, and amazing team chemistry. Even though the Suns are built to be NBA Champions and have reached the finals in the past, they fell short and lost in the second round of the West semifinals against the Dallas Mavs.
The Suns had quite a mixed NBA season, they finished the 2021-2022 NBA Regular Season with a 64-18 record, crowning them not only the best team in the Western Conference but the best record in the NBA.
The charismatic coach Monty Williams leads the team, he has won back-to-back NBA Coach of the Year, accrued 81 of a possible 100 first place, and finished with a total of 458 points.
The Suns’ regular season was outstanding, they set a new franchise record with their 18th straight win when Phoenix defeated the Detroit Pistons with a 114-108 victory. Solely in that game, seven Suns reached double figures, Cameron Payne and Cameron Johnson each scored a game-high of 19 points off the bench.
In the Western Conference semifinals, Suns led with a 4-2 series win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns played without his star Devin Booker for three games, only to prove that they are resourceful and have an outstanding ability to adapt well to any given challenge.
The Suns made their way through to the second round of the West Conference semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks, in a much-heated atmosphere throughout the seven games, the Mavs won the series 4-3 ushered by game-leader and Mavs’ superstar Luka Doncic.
The outcome of the second-round series was such a disappointment for the Suns, they played extremely well for the entire regular reason and were built to win the NBA championship. It was a hard-to-digest loss for Phoenix.
However, the Suns can and will burst in the upcoming season. Here is how they will make it to the finals and win the 2022-2023 NBA Championship:
The Suns’ Far Superior Roster
The Suns have by far the most superior roster in the NBA and it represents a bold statement of their high-caliber game style.
After multi-millionaire negotiations and free-agency discussions, Phoenix’s nucleus was locked in for the upcoming future. CP3 signed a four-year extension, an up to $120 million contract that, allegedly, will expire when he’s 40.
The “big man” DeAndre Ayton was eligible for a five-year $175 million extension after the Suns matched up the Indiana Pacers’ offer. Devin Booker agreed on a four-year $214 million contract extension.
Also, Mikal Bridges agreed on a four-year $90 million extension. More recently, coach Monty Williams signed a long-term contract extension to continue leading the Suns.
Let’s not dismiss superstars Cameron Payne, Cam Johson, and Jae Crowder who will continue playing for Phoenix.
As far as the Suns’ main players and coaching staff, we fans and bettors can have absolute confidence they will rock the upcoming season.

Suns’ Elite Duo: Chris Paul and Devin Booker

The CP3-Booker elite duo has complementary skills, they benefit from each other’ skillset, ultimately, leading to the team’s success. Together, they orchestrate one of the best defenses in the league.
According to StatMuse, the Suns were 22-3 in clutch games the past season. Devin Booker was shooting 67.7% in the clutch, and Chris Paul was shooting 57.1%.
Devin Booker is an ALL-NBA First Team selection, he averaged a career-high of 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. He helped the Suns win a franchise record of 64 games. Devin is the fourth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 11, 000 career points.
On the other end, Chris “Point God” Paul led the Phoenix Suns in assists, only in the 3 playoffs games, Paul sets a new record in NBA history with 15 assists and 0 turnovers. He is probably one of the top guards in the whole league. In the last season, CP3 averaged 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 10.8 points.
Both NBA superstars are selfish players and basketball junkies. They look after each other bringing their best to the court for the team’s common good. Additionally, to check out more specific information about the NBA props available for the Bucks vs Warriors matchup.
One quality that I admire the most about Paul is his ability to step out of the player’s zone and become a coach for their team. Often, we see Paul leading, coaching, and organizing the team. One quality I admire the most about the Suns is their ego-less and humble attitude to listening to the “Point God”.
As long as the duo remains healthy and plays consistently, the Suns count on the most dynamic couple in the NBA. They have plenty of talent and drive to lead the Suns to the NBA finals and win the title.
DeAndre Ayton’s Versatility
As a Suns fan, I couldn’t be more excited to learn Phoenix extended Ayton’s contract. DA is a versatile player, he provides solid defense, rebounds quite consistently, and at any given time, he can become the game’s leading scorer. In fact, he is the team’s leading scorer behind Devin Booker.
In the regular season, Ayton averaged 17.2 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game, and 1.4 assists per game. He started 58 games and had an average court time of 29.5 minutes.
Ayton was a determining factor in the Suns’ success in the last season, and once again he will have the chance to perform at NBA elite level. He was thrilled about continue playing with “his brothers”. Ayton is indeed the center of the Suns.
