Lakers Star LeBron James Ruled Out for Pivotal Matchup vs Bucks

LeBron Is Out With an Ankle Injury, Lakers Are Keeping a Close Eye on It

LeBron’s Out

It’s been an up-and-down season for the Los Angeles Lakers as they currently hold the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. The team can’t afford to lose many more games this season if they hope to avoid the play-in tournament but their path continues to be difficult.

According to NBA breaking news, LeBron James has been ruled out tonight vs. the Milwaukee Bucks due to an ankle injury. The Bucks are one of the top teams in the NBA and not having LeBron will be a big blow. He’s only missed nine NBA games this season but it’s not a good sign that he’s getting banged up with the season nearing its end.

LeBron’s ankle will be something to watch closely for the Lakers for the rest of the season. Without him, the team isn’t likely to compete for a championship and could miss the playoffs completely.

Lakers Beat Bucks Without LeBron James Last Time

LeBron James’ stats have been as good as ever this season but the team hasn’t been terrible without him. They’ve gone 5-4 in the nine games he missed. The last time he missed a game was ironically against the Bucks.

Despite not having the future Hall of Famer, the Lakers were able to beat Milwaukee 123-122. D’Angelo Russell went off in that game for 44 points but he missed Sunday’s game with an illness. It remains to be seen how healthy he’ll be tonight.

This is the type of game the Lakers need Anthony Davis to step up. He was just named Western Conference Player of the Week and has had a very good season. However, he’s yet to prove that he can consistently put the team on his back when LeBron can’t play.

Playing against two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo would be a great showcase for Davis. Time will tell if he’s up to the task but he could make a serious statement before the playoffs.
