NBA Wednesday Betting Preview
Tighter Matchups Expected Over 10-Game Slate
We had nine NBA games on Tuesday night, which were supposed to be close per the NBA betting lines. It didn’t turn out that way for five of them, which were blowouts. But there is no rest for more than half of these teams as they are back in action on Wednesday. We preview the 10 NBA games.
NBA Wednesday Preview Games
Charlotte Hornets (26-22) vs Indiana Pacers (17-31)
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Charlotte -1½
- Moneyline: N/A
- Total: 228
After getting rolled in Toronto, the Charlotte Hornets travel to the Indiana Pacers as negligible favorites. Charlotte has won three straight against Indiana and is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six against the Pacers. Indiana has dropped five of its last six home games.

Milwaukee Bucks (30-19) vs Cleveland Cavaliers (29-19)
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Milwaukee -4
- Moneyline: Milwaukee -175, Cleveland +155
- Total: 218
The Milwaukee Bucks meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in a potentially Central Division-altering matchup. These budding rivals have split the season series 1-1. More notably, the defense has dictated their games, with their last five in Cleveland going under the totals.
Los Angeles Clippers (24-25) vs Orlando Magic (9-39)
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Orlando -1½
- Moneyline: N/A
- Total: 213
Do the Los Angeles Clippers have anything left in the tank? Following last night’s thrilling 35-point comeback at Washington, the Clippers may be done as they take on the Orlando Magic, who blew out the Chicago Bulls. The Clippers are 2-5 and the Magic are 1-9 on the second night of a back-to-back.
New York Knicks (23-25) vs Miami Heat (30-17)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Miami -5½
- Moneyline: New York +190, Miami -230
- Total: 202½
The favorite to be Wednesday’s lowest-scoring game, expect a grueling affair when the New York Knicks face the Miami Heat. Their last two games (from the previous season) both went under 200 points. Eleven of New York’s last 16 games have gone under on the sportsbook.
Sacramento Kings (18-31) vs Atlanta Hawks (21-25)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Atlanta Hawks -9½
- Moneyline: Sacramento +350, Atlanta -450
- Total: 231½
The Sacramento Kings hit a new low as they got dismantled by 53 points by Boston. Now they head to Atlanta to face the Hawks, who have won four in a row. Sacramento has won two of its last three games in the State Farm Arena so could this be a trap game for Atlanta?

Denver Nuggets (25-21) vs Brooklyn Nets (29-18)
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Denver -2
- Moneyline: N/A
- Total: 221½
The Denver Nuggets had to hold on to beat the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. They still failed to cover the spread and thus drop to 1-5 ATS in their last six games. They maintain being a favorite as they take on the Brooklyn Nets, who lost to the resurgent Los Angeles Lakers.
Toronto Raptors (23-22) vs Chicago Bulls (29-17)
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Chicago -4
- Moneyline: Toronto +145, Chicago -165
- Total: 219½
Chicago’s DeMar DeRozan faces his old team, the Toronto Raptors, as slight favorites. He is 3-2 against them and has beaten them at least once each season. Toronto is just 1-5 ATS in their last six games against Chicago, though these injury-riddled Bulls are just 2-6 in their last eight games. A bet online on the underdog Raptors may be warranted.
Memphis Grizzlies (32-17) vs San Antonio Spurs (18-30)
- Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Memphis -4½
- Moneyline: Memphis -190, San Antonio +165
- Total: 228½
Once the league’s hottest team, the Memphis Grizzlies have been hit by COVID and will be missing plenty of players as they visit the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are only 5-9 ATS as a home underdog, but this team is healthier and 8-5 ATS against conference rivals.
Dallas Mavericks (27-21) vs Portland Trail Blazers (20-27)
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Dallas -4
- Moneyline: Dallas -170, Portland +150
- Total: 217
The Portland Trail Blazers are learning to win without star player Damian Lillard. Despite losing to Minnesota on Tuesday, the Blazers are 6-3 in their last nine games and 7-2 ATS. They’ll have their hands full against the Dallas Mavericks, who are 6-4 ATS as a road favorite this season.
Phoenix Suns (37-9) vs Utah Jazz (30-18)
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Phoenix -1½
- Moneyline: N/A
- Total: 223½
Thanks to injuries, the Utah Jazz are reeling and have won just two games in their last eight. They are just 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 games. Yikes! But they did cover in their last game against the Phoenix Suns, which is the first time they did so in their last six matchups.
