NBA Odds: Where Will Kevin Durant Play Next?
Superstar Requests Trade from Brooklyn Nets
An odd season for the Brooklyn Nets continues to twist and spin.
Days after guard Kyrie Irving surprised many by opting into his contract at the price of $36.5 million for the upcoming season, Kevin Durant told the team on Thursday he wants out. As in O-U-T, out.
Durant spoke with Nets team owner Joe Tsai and told him he would like to be traded.
The early buzz among NBA insiders is the 6-foot-10 Durant would prefer to be dealt to either the Miami Heat or the Phoenix Suns, the top seeds in the Eastern and Western Conference this past season
Those teams have opened at BetUS as the favored landing spot for the 14-year veteran, who missed the 2019-20 season while recovering from injury.
The Miami Heat are listed at +175, while Phoenix is +275. Right behind those two in the odds race to land the great Durant are the Memphis Grizzlies (+450) and Atlanta Hawks (+500).
Durant is under contract for four more years so no matter where he winds up, expect the Nets to want a huge package of players, draft picks and money in return.
