We’ve got 12 games on hand this Tuesday with at least three teams worth paying attention to as their matchups have playoff implications. The NBA betting odds are not kind to two of them fighting for a seat at the table as we also have several possible blowouts.-
NBA Games For April 5
Cavaliers vs Magic
The undermanned Cleveland Cavaliers are limping to the postseason but are a solid bet online to get a ‘W’ visiting the Orlando Magic. The home team is just 1-6 against the spread (ATS) in its last seven games at the Amway Center and has won just two of their last 10 overall. The total has gone under in these teams’ last six games in Orlando.
76ers vs Pacers
MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid will look to continue solidifying his case as his Philadelphia 76ers visit the Indiana Pacers as the biggest road favorite this night. Philadelphia has covered 50 percent (11-11-1) of its games as one. Indiana has lost seven straight games and is just 1-6 in its last seven games at home.
Hawks vs Raptors
The Toronto Raptors lost to their old friend Kyle Lowry despite being favorites at home. They’ll look to rebound once against as favored hosts over another Southeast team: the Atlanta Hawks. More aptly known as “Hotlanta” these days, the Hawks have gone 12-6 since March.
Rockets vs Nets
As usual, the Houston Rockets are the evening’s largest underdogs. However, the Brooklyn Nets have been abysmal at covering spreads. Brooklyn is just 1-4 ATS in its last five and league-worst 4-24-1 ATS as a home favorite. The total is also the highest for the night as Houston has given up 120+ points in four straight games.
Hornets vs Heat
Winners of four straight, the Miami Heat inch closer to clinching the top seed in the East with a win over their division rivals, the Charlotte Hornets. Miami has won four straight, is 11-2 (8-4-1 ATS) against its division, and is unbeaten at home (6-0). Charlotte is 5-1 ATS in its last six road games.
Wizards vs Timberwolves
Expect a potential high-scoring affair as the Minnesota Timberwolves host the Washington Wizards. The total is lined as the second-highest for the night and the over has cashed in Minnesota’s last eight games versus Washington.
Bucks vs Bulls
The Chicago Bulls get one last crack at the Milwaukee Bucks, a team they have lost all three meetings against this season. The Bulls are, otherwise, 5-2 ATS against the division while the Bucks are just 7-6. However, Milwaukee is 9-2 as a favorite and are expected to sweep the season series.
Trail Blazers vs Thunder
The Portland Trail Blazers will be underdogs visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder, the only team they have been favored against on the online sports betting lines in their last 29 games. Both squads look more like G-League teams, however, the Thunder are coming off a win against the top-ranked Phoenix Suns.
Spurs vs Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets look to play spoiler as they are heavily favored against the San Antonio Spurs. The visitors have been profitable on the road and are 17-12 ATS as an underdog in this situation. Denver has covered just 38.7 percent of its home games as a favorite, the third-worst in the league.
Grizzlies vs Jazz
Injuries are running roughshod over the Memphis Grizzlies as they visit the Utah Jazz as underdogs. Memphis has won seven straight and covered six of their last seven. The Jazz are reeling, having dropped six of their last seven. They look to beat their division rival for the first time this season.
Pelicans vs Kings
It’s rare to see the New Orleans Pelicans as significant favorites on the road. They are 3-4 ATS as one while the Sacramento Kings have covered exactly half of their home games as an underdog (13-13-0). The total has gone over in five of the last seven games in which New Orleans visited Sacramento.
Lakers vs Suns
These are desperate times for the Los Angeles Lakers as a banged-up LeBron James and Anthony Davis will look to save their season with a win over the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers have lost six straight against Phoenix and are just 2-8 in their last ten games. Phoenix has dropped a pair but won nine straight prior.
