After a dozen games last night, it’s back to business for seven of the 12 teams playing this Wednesday night. Of the six NBA matchups, all but one game features at least one team that played 24 hours ago (or less). How will this impact the NBA odds?
NBA Games For April 6
Dallas Mavericks vs Detroit Pistons
This is the only matchup where neither team played last night so it’s natural for the Dallas Mavericks to be sizable favorites visiting the Detroit Pistons. Dallas has covered four of its last five games. Detroit, on the other hand, has covered five straight games and has a 62.5 percent cover rate as a home underdog.
Brooklyn Nets vs New York Knicks
The final game between intercity rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks, has Brooklyn as the favorites. Kyrie Irving fueled the Nets’ win over the Rockets last night but they failed to cover for the fifth straight time. They are much better as a road team: 22-16-2 against the spread (ATS). The Knicks are just 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Washington Wizards vs Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks host the Washington Wizards as the second-largest favorite of the evening. They are 7-4 as a favorite against their division and they have won five straight at home versus Washington. The Wizards, who upset the Wolves last night, are 8-4-1 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back.

Boston Celtics vs Chicago Bulls
As both a potential first-round matchup and rubber match, the Boston Celtics are favored significantly against the Chicago Bulls. Boston has rested for two days while the Bulls were dismantled by the Bucks last evening. Boston has a 61.5 percent cover rate (8-5-1) with a rest advantage on the online sportsbook.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Utah Jazz
Both the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz are on the second night of a back-to-back but Utah is the biggest favorite of the night. The Jazz are just 4-7-1 ATS with no rest while the Thunder are 7-6-0. The last seven times the Thunder visited Utah, the total went under. That explains why this has the lowest total for the night.
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers
The Phoenix Suns are riding high after ending the Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff hopes as they meet the other L.A. team, the Los Angeles Clippers as underdogs. The Clippers have won three of their last four since Paul George returned. Phoenix is rarely an underdog but leads the NBA with a 63.6 win percentage (7-4) as one, making them a tantalizing bet online.
