NBA Preview: Wednesday, February 2
Nine Games For NBA Mid-Week
Happy Humpday! The condensed NBA schedule continues with another packed evening: nine games on the NBA betting odds and plenty of line movement already. Road teams are expected to do well this evening other than Washington and Oklahoma City.
NBA Games For February 2
Orlando Magic (11-41) at Indiana Pacers (19-33)
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Indiana -4
- Moneyline: Orlando +150, Indiana -170
- Total: 224
After losing to the Bulls, the Orlando Magic get right back to business against the Indiana Pacers. Orlando is just 1-9 (4-6 against the spread (ATS)) on the second night of a back-to-back while Indiana is 6-7 (6-6-1 ATS) with a rest advantage. The total has gone ‘over’ in the Pacers’ last five fights.

Washington Wizards (23-27) at Philadelphia 76ers (31-19)
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Philadelphia -10½
- Moneyline: Washington +420, Philadelphia -520
- Total: 213½
The Philadelphia 76ers should have MVP contender Joel Embiid back in the lineup as they look to blow out the collapsing Washington Wizards. Philadelphia extended their win streak to six by upsetting Memphis while Washington has lost six straight and 12 straight playing in the Wells Fargo Center.
Charlotte Hornets (28-23) at Boston Celtics (27-25)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Boston -5
- Moneyline: Charlotte +170, Boston -200
- Total: 225½
The Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics meet for their rubber match with the road team winning each game of their season series. In their last five games, Boston is 4-1 ATS while Charlotte is 1-4 ATS. The Celtics’ home loss against Charlotte is also the first time they lost to the Hornets at the TD Garden in ten tries.
Memphis Grizzlies (35-18) at New York Knicks (24-27)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Memphis -3½
- Moneyline: Memphis -170, New York +150
- Total: 219½
The total has gone over in four of the New York Knicks’ last five games as an underdog while four of the Memphis Grizzlies’ last six games as a road favorite have as well. The Knicks play the slowest pace in the NBA but the Grizzlies are the ninth-fastest as a visitor.
Cleveland Cavaliers (31-20) at Houston Rockets (14-36)
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Cleveland -5
- Moneyline: Cleveland -190, Houston +165
- Total: 220
With a 62.5% cover rate, the Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the NBA teams to bet online. They get what appears like a “gimme” in the tanking Houston Rockets. Houston has won just four of their last 20 games and has failed to cover the spread in ten straight home games. However, the “Cavs” are just 4-4-1 ATS as a road favorite.
Oklahoma City Thunder (15-34) at Dallas Mavericks (29-22)
- Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Dallas -12
- Moneyline: Oklahoma City +625, Dallas -850
- Total: 206
The Dallas Mavericks are the evening’s biggest favorite in what is also projected as the lowest-scoring game. Dallas plays a slow and grinding style that has led to 76% of their home games going under (19 of 25). The Oklahoma City Thunder are just 6-18 on the road but are 15-9 ATS. Dallas is 2-1 ATS as a favorite of 10 points or greater.
Brooklyn Nets (29-21) at Sacramento Kings (18-34)
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Brooklyn -4½
- Moneyline: Brooklyn -175, Sacramento +155
- Total: 222½
With a 38.8% cover rate, the Brooklyn Nets have been less than an ideal team to support on the online sportsbook’s point spread. It doesn’t get any better that the team is missing a good chunk of its frontcourt and is 1-6-1 ATS when having no rest and just 3-7-1 with a rest disadvantage. However, the Sacramento Kings are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.
Denver Nuggets (28-22) at Utah Jazz (30-21)
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Utah -3
- Moneyline: Denver +125, Utah -145
- Total: 222½
This is the fourth and final meeting between these Northwest Division rivals with the Utah Jazz going for the sweep, having won the last three games. They are also 3-0 ATS in this span and 5-1 ATS in their last six games against them. But Utah is also depleted and has dropped five straight. The Denver Nuggets are just 2-6 when on the second night of a back-to-back.
Portland Trail Blazers (21-30) at Los Angeles Lakers (24-27)
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Point Spread: Los Angeles Lakers -3½
- Moneyline: Portland +140, Los Angeles Lakers -160
- Total: 222½
Desperate Pacific Division squads meet in the Crypto.com Arena where the Los Angeles Lakers are 4-1 in their last five against the Portland Trail Blazers. Peep the total here as we have the 28th-ranked defense in Portland versus the third-fastest team in the Lakers.
