Favorites Roll, Home Teams Cash
It was a short four-game slate in the NBA and favorites again went undefeated, going 4-0 straight up. It was home teams who were most profitable against-the-spread (ATS) though as they went 3-1 on the NBA betting lines .
The Philadelphia 76ers got a comfortable 133-120 win over the Indiana Pacers as they remain within touching distance of the two seed in the East.
Despite the comfortable win, the Sixers were the only home team who failed to cover the closing line of 14½ points. That said, they did lead 133-115 with just 50 seconds of game time remaining before a quick 5-0 spurt for the visitors saw them sneak in the backdoor for the cover.
Ja Morant made his return to action as the Memphis Grizzlies ran out 141-114 winners at home to the New Orleans Pelicans – comfortably covering the -8.0 line in the process.
“Being out there with my team is something I’ve been waiting on,” said Morant after the game.
The Grizzlies moved to 30-0 when scoring over 120 points, and also recorded a franchise record 55-point quarter.
The Golden State Warriors moved closer to securing the three seed in the West as they emerged with a 100-94 win at the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs did manage to cover the spread in this one though as the team rallied from 19 points down in the second quarter to ultimately stay within the 6½ point closing number.
The LA Clippers recorded a straightforward 117-98 win over the Sacramento Kings in the final game of the night, also making light work of the 11½ point spread.
The home side led by 15 points at the end of the opening quarter and never really looked back from there, covering the line for the majority of the game from there on out.
Totals went 2-2 on the day, with the Sixers and Grizzlies games going Over the full game number thanks to strong offensive performances from the winning teams, while the Warriors and Clippers games stayed comfortably Under their respective numbers.
