These Are the Highest Paid NBA Players for the 2024-25 Season

NBA Champions, MVPs, and Franchise Players Lead the Way as the Highest-Paid for Next Season

Money Moves

There are a lot of NBA players who are set to make a significant amount of money next season but there are a few who stand above the rest. Ahead of NBA games being played, there’s been some talk in NBA news about who the highest-paid players are. Interestingly enough, the highest-paid player didn’t even make the NBA playoffs last year.

Superstars of the Game

Warriors star Stephen Curry is atop the list as he’s set to make over $55 million next season. Former NBA Finals MVPs Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Jokic are right behind him. Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 highest-paid players.

  • 1. Stephen Curry: $55,761,217
  • 2. Kawhi Leonard: $52,368,085
  • 3. Nikola Jokic: $51,415,938
  • 3. Joel Embiid: $51,415,938
  • 5. Kevin Durant: $51,179,020
  • 6. Bradley Beal: $50,203,930
  • 7. Devin Booker: $49,205,800
  • 7. Paul George: $49,205,800
  • 7. Karl-Anthony Towns: $49,205,800
  • 7. Jaylen Brown: $49,205,800

Notably, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James just barely missed the list as they landed at 12 and 14. Jayson Tatum isn’t in the top 20 for the 2024-25 season but he’ll jump up to $54 million for the 2025-26 season.

Which of the Biggest Contracts Is the Worst?

Only one player on the top 10 list even made the NBA Finals last season so having highly paid players doesn’t always lead to success. Nobody would argue that the majority of these players don’t deserve to be among the highest paid but there’s one name that sticks out as having the worst contract.

Phoenix Suns guard is probably not even a top-20 player in the NBA at this point but he’s one of only six players to be making over $50 million this season. In fact, the Suns have three players who land in the top 10, including Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

That’s a significant amount of money dedicated to three players. It wouldn’t be a surprise if NBA rumors started coming out about them trying to trade one of their stars.
