Tyrese Haliburton Shares Message on Social Media After Achilles Injury
‘Indy, I’m Sorry. If Any Fan Base Doesn’t Deserve This, It’s Y’all.’
Hali Speaks Out
Tyrese Haliburton made NBA news when he ripped his Achilles in the pivotal Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, watching from the sidelines as his Pacers came up agonizingly short of bringing a championship banner home to Indiana.

Haliburton Knows Frustration
Tyrese Haliburton is the superstar on the rise who plied his trade in Middle America with few valuing what he brought to the table more than his teammates. Although he started in 72 NBA games, a personal career high, the toll it took on his body manifested at precisely the wrong time.
Pretty unbelievable that you play your whole life, you battle all season, you make all the clutch plays… and you get injured in Game fucking 7 of the NBA Finals after all that… if you don’t feel for Tyrese Haliburton you don’t have a beating heart

He injured his calf in Game 5, only to play through the pain in 23 minutes of Game 6, where he contributed 14 points and saw his squad force a crucial Game 7 against the irresistible force known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. After only seven minutes of play, Haliburton was out with a torn Achilles, and the Pacers’ chances of pulling an upset all but disappeared, and those whose NBA picks relied on Indiana making history were cursing the gambling gods.
From his hospital bed on Monday, Haliburton took to X to apologize to the fans for his untimely injury and, in part, wrote the following:
“Indy, I’m sorry. If any fan base doesn’t deserve this, it’s y’all. But together we are going to fight like hell to get back to this very spot, and get over this hurdle. I don’t doubt for a second that y’all have my back, and I hope you guys know that I have yours. I think Kobe said it best when in this same situation. “There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever. And that’s exactly right. I will do everything in my power to get back right.
“My journey to get to where I am today wasn’t by happenstance, I’ve pushed myself every day to be great. And I will continue to do just that. The most important part of this all, is that I’m grateful. I’m grateful for every single experience that’s led me here. I’m grateful for all the love from the hoop world. I don’t “have to” go through this, I get to go through this. I’m grateful for the road that lies ahead. Watch how I come back from this. So, give me some time, I’ll dust myself off and get right back to being the best version of Tyrese Haliburton.”
Man. Don’t know how to explain it other than shock. Words cannot express the pain of this letdown. The frustration is unfathomable. I’ve worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense.

Is Ty the Savior?
When you made your NBA betting predictions for the postseason, was Indiana even a thought? They ended as the No. 4 seed in the East with a respectable 50-32 record, but weren’t known for anything more than being a good team that could upset a great team on any given night.
Perhaps gritty is a more accurate description of this Indiana edition than anything else. Of course, they were talented, but were they good enough to bang with the mettle of the league? Well, apparently so, as they took the league’s best team to seven games and made Oklahoma City work for every victory.
Tyrese Haliburton’s stats reveal he wasn’t the team’s top scorer in the regular season or the postseason. That distinction belongs to Pascal Siakam, but he was the assists leader, the quarterback, the straw that stirs the drink.
Win or lose, Tyrese Haliburton’s 2025 postseason includes some of the most miraculous basketball moments we’ve ever seen. The resounding image of him should be this one and not the one of him on the floor in tears tonight. pic.twitter.com/xP9X3VSFy3

Is he truly a top-tier NBA player? No, he’s a click below the truly gifted, and I promise we wouldn’t be talking about him today had the Pacers not made an extraordinary playoff run. Nevertheless, he is a vital component of any championship edition, and like the Mavericks last year, it’s doubtful we will see the Pacers in the Finals next year.
However, barring any medical setbacks, Haliburton is only 25 and has a big career ahead of him. It is likely we will see a contender deal for him to put them over the top. The Pacers will get a boatload in return, and all parties will be convinced they won the trade.
May Tyrese return to the court without being hampered by any lingering issues and do what he does best. But what the league may consider is cutting the schedule down from a grueling 82-game schedule that has caused coaches to rest their star players on the same night you spent a fortune for tickets, and spare these young legs from season-ending and sometimes career-ending injuries.
