Starting this past Saturday with the Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves jumping out to an early series lead against the Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and LA Lakers, respectively, the action continued on Sunday.
Yesterday, in four Easter Day showdowns, the OKC Thunder, heavy NBA betting odds favorites for the title, made quick work of the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Boston Celtics did the same with the Orlando Magic. Over in Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers routed the Miami Heat, while the Golden State Warriors clutched their way to a dub in Houston against the Rockets.
Sixteen teams. One champion.

With 16 teams in the running and the Larry O’Brien title waiting ahead, who are you taking to go all the way?
Cooper Flagg Decides to Go Pro
In college basketball news, one season with the Duke Blue Devils was all NCAA hoops fans were able to enjoy outside of phenom Cooper Flagg as he made his decision to enter next season’s NBA draft officially.

In a move that solidified college basketball rumors, Flagg, who is coming off a one-and-done season with Duke in which he won the AP Player of the Year award, putting up 18.9 points per game, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists, will now take on the role as the most coveted prospect for every team in the lottery to score the No.1 pick in the draft.
But that shouldn’t be an issue for the Duke freshman, he’s been on the No.1 draft pick radar since his first day lacing up for the Blue Devils.
And there it is: Cooper Flagg has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft.
He was never staying at Duke for two seasons, no matter who got the top pick. A lock to be the first overall pick, and doesn’t turn 19 until late-December.
Lots of teams will be hoping for some lottery luck in…

While at first, after Victor Wembanyama’s injury, we dished out the idea of the San Antonio Spurs potentially being able to start a new dynasty by landing Flagg, which team will end up snagging him up?
John Cena Breaks WWE Title Record
Firstly, before I dive into everything that happened this weekend at WWE’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania, can we all, as mature adults, agree on the fact that this WrestleMania stunk?
In what could have been a ground-breaking event with one of the biggest storylines in the sport in recent times, the WWE dropped the ball harder than Adam Silver trying to make the NBA cool again.
Anyways though, this past weekend at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Wrestlemania 41 went down with John Cena, aka pro wrestling’s GOAT (not even going to bother arguing about it, we all know that’s a F-A-C-T) finally surpassing ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair as the all-time leader in heavyweight championship wins with 17.

Headlining the main event of day 2 against Cody Rhodes, Cena, now fully invested in his heel era, took down the American Nightmare following the help of rapper Travis Scott and a cheap shot with the WWE title to secure his record-breaking 17th win.
From now on, not only will John Cena’s stats hold the number 17 next to world title wins, but also a 10-6 overall record in the industry’s biggest event.
His time is now!

At least MLB got it right with their congratulatory tweet!
Mets Stand Tall as Best Team in MLB
Speaking of MLB, the New York Mets cemented their status this weekend as the hottest team in pro baseball, reaching a 15-7 record following a weekend series sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals, taking all four MLB games at home in Citi Field.

Of course, in true Mets fashion, not all four wins were a breeze, with perennial All-star and fan favorite Francisco Lindor giving NY fans yet another reason to love him, calling a game on Friday night with a cold, cold walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th with both teams tied at 4.

You want to talk about aura taking over reality, just look at Lindor’s walk after the shot. That’s art right there.
Piastri Makes It Two GP Wins in a Row
Oscar Piastri and McLaren are starting to make winning GP races an every-weekend kind of thing, following Piastri’s second win in a row this past Sunday at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

With a few days to rest up before the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, May 4, the question is, can Piastri make it three in a row?
