- Both teams are dealing with injuries, but the Lakers are at least a little healthier.
- The 76ers have two All-Stars from last season who won’t be on the court, hurting the chances of this game hitting the over.
- The Lakers are better offensively at home, leading them to cover the spread.
- Read on to find my top two 76ers vs Lakers predictions.
The Philadelphia 76ers’ start to the season only seems to get worse. That is going to stay the same as their injuries pile up. The 76ers go on the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are undefeated at home through three games, leaning NBA predictions tonight toward their side.
The 76ers’ trouble continued on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers in their last game. At least they didn’t have to travel after the 110-98 loss, which brought their losing streak to four. Paul George looked solid in his return to LA, but Tyrese Maxey picked up an injury.
The Lakers did not do much better in their last game, losing 131-114 to the Memphis Grizzlies. However, the Lakers were without their best player so far this season, Anthony Davis, and his absence was felt. If he is back for this game, and we have two picks that would make the best NBA parlay today.

2 Top Bets for 76ers vs Lakers on Nov 8
1. Bet on Lakers -7.5
After starting the season with three straight wins, all at home, the Lakers went on a five-game road trip. That road trip began with two losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns, currently two of the best teams in the league, before getting a win over the Toronto Raptors. But then the final two games were a 115-103 loss to the Detroit Pistons, followed by a loss to the Grizzlies.
The loss to the Grizzlies can be explained by NBA news, as Davis missed the game. Davis averages 32.6 points per game, the highest in the league, with 11.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks. That is a massive hole in production on both sides of the court.

LeBron James tried to make up for the absence of Davis against the Grizzlies with a great game. James had 39 points, seven rebounds, and six assists but five turnovers, which did not help. The Lakers had 18 turnovers, which led to 22 points. On top of that, James got little help from the supporting cast. Rui Hachimura also missed the game, and outside of Austin Reaves’s 19 points, James did not receive much help.
That should change at home, leading the Lakers to cover the NBA spread. At home, the Lakers are averaging 121.3 points per game, which is the second-most in the league. On the road, that drops to 112.6 points per game. If Davis can get on the court, this should be a big win, but even if not, the supporting cast performs better at home.

2. Bet This Game to Finish Under
The Philadelphia 76ers‘ injuries are a big reason the Lakers have a good chance of covering the spread. The 2022-23 MVP, Joel Embiid, has yet to play a game this season due to an injury, but now, because of a three-game suspension, he won’t see the court till at least November 12. Then, in the last game against the Clippers, Maxey injured his hamstring, which will keep him out for a few weeks.
Just In: Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks because of a right hamstring injury, sources told ESPN. Full evaluation coming later Thursday but sides are bracing for Maxey’s absence. Sixers will take careful approach with the injury. pic.twitter.com/sPxFnsylYF

Embiid and Maxey are the only 2023-24 All-Stars on the team, and both are currently out. Furthermore, Maxey had been the 76ers’ main offensive threat, averaging 27.6 points per game, and will now be out for this game.
On the bright side, the 76ers’ big offseason signing, Paul George, has now played his first two games. In George’s first game of the season, he scored 15 points but took 14 shots, only making four of them, playing just over 31 minutes. Then, in the loss to the Clippers, he looked better, making seven of nine shots for 18 points, but only played 24 minutes.
Having George on the court for the 76ers is great, but not having Maxey or Embiid will make it challenging to turn around this 1-6 start. Plus, now that the 76ers are without their two best offensive players, it is hard to imagine them covering the spread, and they might not have enough offense to hit the over in NBA picks.

Questions of the Day
Who is going to lead this game in scoring?
If Davis is out, James will be the best offensive player for the Lakers and will carry this team to a win.
Can George have a big game with the 76ers stars out?
George has only played in two games and is still shaking off the rust. He won’t be enough to carry this 76ers offense.
