On paper, this should be one of the more exciting matchups for the day. The Philadelphia 76ers (1-4) and Phoenix Suns (5-1) are two of the more interesting teams to bet in our NBA Conference odds. However, because of injuries, both teams may not meet expectations.
For now, the Suns have remained somewhat healthy despite Bradley Beal being in and out of the lineup. The 76ers have not had the same luck, with Joel Embiid and Paul George not playing yet, affecting the BetUS sportsbook lines.
In the 76ers last game, their lack of star power continued to hurt them, as they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 124-107. Then, the Suns, despite not playing well, still managed to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 103-97.

76ers vs Suns Betting Preview
1. 76ers Have Hope, Bet Them to Cover Spread
This game might be a turning point for the 76ers, who have not gotten off to the best start of the 2023-24 season. However, it is hard to blame the team. With the 2022-23 MVP (Embiid) and the 76ers‘ biggest offseason signing (George) out, it is hard to expect much from them.

The good thing is that at least one of those players should make their return against the Suns. George should headline NBA news in this game by making his debut with the 76ers after leaving the Los Angeles Clippers to sign a four-year deal worth $211 million with Philadelphia this offseason.
George getting to start for the 76ers could change a lot. Tyrese Maxey has looked impressive, averaging 29.8 points per game but only 4.8 assists and playing 41 minutes. On top of that, there has not been much support for him, with the only one player averaging over 12 points per game, Kelly Oubre Jr., at 18. Getting George back into the starting lineup will help Maxey by slowly taking the entire offense off his shoulders.
On top of that, the Suns have not exactly been a great team when it comes to covering NBA spreads. They have only covered two of six spreads this season and only once as a favorite. The Suns have played well but have struggled to hold leads or finish games strong. Even though the 76ers have had their struggles, there is a chance George does enough to help.

2. Don’t Bank on a Lot of Points, Bet the Under
The Suns‘ defense has been one of the most noticeable improvements this season. They allow 109.8 points per game, ranked ninth, while they have the fifth-best defensive rating.
That will be important for this team because the offense will be fine, with players like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Beal on the roster. Beal is slightly behind the other two, who are averaging over 25 points per game, but that is still a lot of offensive power to deal with.

However, after those three names, the next offensive threat becomes a question mark. In the win over the Trail Blazers, Grayson Allen stepped up off the bench, hitting four 3s for 18 points. The only issue is that that kind of performance is probably not reliable.
Because the 76ers’ offense has struggled and could run into another roadblock by needing to fit George into the scheme, NBA score predictions should back the under. Both teams have offensive talent, but there are legitimate concerns. The Suns’ defense has been really good, which could also lead to a low-scoring game.
Best Bet: 76ers vs Suns Under 223
Questions of the Day
Who is going to lead this game in scoring?
The 76ers do not have a guard defender to match up with Devin Booker, who should have a big offensive night.
Is there a player prop to keep track of?
The 76ers have not been a great rebounding team this season, and while the Suns are not much better, expect them to win the battle on the glass.
