Look, while the 76ers have strung together back-to-back wins, including an impressive road win over the Boston Celtics, I’m still not sold on them being a serious threat – especially in non-conference matchups. That’s why I’m riding with the Portland Trail Blazers getting the points at home.

Even with C Joel Embiid listed as questionable for this matchup (per updated 76ers vs Trail Blazers injuries), Philly still has PG Tyrese Maxey healthy and ready to go, so you can count on some offensive firepower. That said, I’m still not fully convinced they’ll cover the spread on this one. Whereas, the Trail Blazers are quietly building something, looking to make it four home wins in a row.

Leading the charge for Portland has been the SG duo of Shaden Sharpe and Anfernee Simons, combining for nearly 36 points per game. Add in C Deandre Ayton cleaning up the glass with a double-double average (14.8 points, 10.4 rebounds), and you’ve got a solid foundation. With Embiid possibly sidelined (surprise, surprise), the Blazers’ depth might just have the perfect chance to take down the 76ers.

Still don’t agree with me? When the 76ers are coming off a win, they’re just 4-7 against the spread this season. Compare that to the Blazers, who are 9-4 ATS as home underdogs, and the choice becomes clearer than a glass of water.

Not to mention, if Embiid plays, most of the offensive touches will funnel to him or Maxey, leaving George as an afterthought. If Embiid sits, Maxey will get the extra touches. Either way, it’s highly unlikely for George to get enough shots up to hit that number of points and more.
