Teams Headed in Opposite Directions
The Las Vegas Aces will head to Indiana to take on the Fever in a rematch of a game played a week ago. The teams couldn’t be more different.
While the Aces are sitting pretty at the top of the Western Conference, having already clinched a playoff spot and winning the Commissioner’s Cup, the Fever sit at the bottom of the WNBA standings and have been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Aces have been strong as of late, winning four of their last five. Meanwhile, the Fever have managed to win five games all season.
These teams last played July 21 for the first time, with Las Vegas coming away with a 90-77 win at home. NaLyssa Smith scored 24 for Indiana, but A’ja Wilson’s 23 combined with Chelsea Gray’s 14 points and 12 assists was enough to hand the Fever their 11th straight loss.
Although the second game between these teams will be in Indianapolis, Las Vegas shouldn’t have a problem securing another win over Indiana.
Vegas’ Strength on the Road
Though Indiana will be playing host to Las Vegas on Friday night, the Fever won’t get much in terms of home-court advantage.
The Aces have played well this season when away from home court, owning a 10-3 away record. The Fever, meanwhile, can’t find a win at home or away as they hold a 3-12 record in Indiana.
In their last two games on the road, the Aces defeated teams at the top of the Eastern Conference. Las Vegas downed first-place Chicago in the Commissioner’s Cup Final 93-83 behind Kelsey Plum’s 24 points, after defeating Connecticut 91-83 for the Aces’ third road win in a row.
With the Fever not having much to show for home-court advantage, the Aces should be able to grab another win on the road.
Fever’s Offensive Woes
Indiana’s offensive struggles have played a role in the Fever’s inability to win.
The Fever are in the bottom two in the league in points per game, averaging 78 points, which has played a part in Indiana’s 5-25 record. In the five games the Fever have won, Indiana has averaged 89.6 points.
Indiana has a solid scorer in leader Kelsey Mitchell, who averages 18.6 points a game, and second option Smith, who averages 13.6 points. However the team has been relatively inconsistent in scoring, making wins hard to come by.
The Fever are also last place in opponent points allowed, allowing an average of 88.5 points a game to their opponents, — 10.5 points more than Indiana scores.
With the Fever unable to get much going at the basket and the Aces sitting at the top in points a game averaging 90.4, a win for Indiana seems unlikely.

Aces vs Fever Prediction
Based on the previous game between these teams and the respective rosters, this looks like it’ll be a lopsided affair.
The Aces sit atop the Western Conference standings while the Fever are in the midst of a 12-game losing streak.
Despite the game taking place in Indiana, Las Vegas should have no trouble getting another big win over the Fever, its fourth in a row overall.
