Best NBA Player Props Friday 15: Paolo Banchero and More

The NBA delivered more memorable moments during Thursday’s action. We had a tough day with our three NBA predictions, but I’m eager to bounce back tonight. I’m here to break down Friday’s six-game slate and looking to cash a sweep with my best NBA prop bets today.

Thursday NBA Recap

On Thursday, the Boston Celtics continued solidifying their position as the best team in the NBA by dominating a fully healthy Phoenix Suns squad 127-112.

The Clippers and Thunder notched another win and have kept pace with the top of the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Bucks and the Knicks coasted to victories over the 76ers and Trail Blazers as they worked to strengthen their grip on the top four spots in the Eastern Conference.

The playoff races are heating up across the NBA. There are plenty of NBA player prop bets to select from Friday night. Here are the best NBA player props tonight.

Best NBA Player Props Today

1. Magic PF Paolo Banchero Over 35½ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-109)

I was feverishly searching for a way to back the Orlando Magic tonight in some capacity when they take on the Toronto Raptors, and Paolo Banchero kept staring at me. Banchero is enjoying a breakout season and is a significant reason why the Magic are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race. After scouring the NBA betting odds, I considered all of these lines individually, but I believe he will stuff the box score in multiple ways tonight.

The Raptors are without Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl again. Their interior clearly lacks the size and strength necessary to defend a player of Banchero’s caliber. The Raptors allow the second-most assists per game, the sixth-most rebounds per game, and the third-most assists per game. The Raptors are now depleted, and Banchero has exceeded this line in five of his last 11 games. Toronto has allowed the most rebounds in the NBA in the previous 10 games. The Raptors are in full tank mode, and I expect Banchero to take advantage of that tonight.

2. Jazz PF John Collins Over 17½ Points (-113)

The Utah Jazz will host the Atlanta Hawks tonight, and Utah will remain without key players. Lauri Markkanen and promising rookie Taylor Hendricks have been ruled out again, but Walker Kessler has recently returned to the lineup. Kessler isn’t much of a scoring threat, so I expect Collins to lead the frontcourt again tonight.

The matchup with Atlanta is appealing as they have allowed the seventh-most points per game to opposing power forwards. Collins’s increased usage will get us over here. He has exceeded this line in five of his last six games. The Jazz are surprisingly just 2½-point underdogs, suggesting a close matchup. The Hawks are giving up the third-most points in the paint per game, and Collins is scoring 58.6% of his points in the paint. I’m expecting a big night for Collins going up against his former team.

3. Hawks PG Dejounte Murray Over 8½ Assists (-126)

It will be another late night because I’m staying out in Utah with our next NBA bet! Life without Trae Young continues in Atlanta, with their All-Star point guard still sidelined after undergoing surgery on his left hand. Young has been the subject of trade talks, and that may finally go down this summer. Look for our NBA futures odds to price where Trae Young could play next season if not for the Hawks. For now, Dejounte Murray has a clear runway to lead Atlanta, and he has done a solid job doing so.

In 14 games without Young this season, Murray has averaged 8.3 assists. He has gone over this line in 8 of 14 games this season without Young. Atlanta are just 2-½ point road favorites against the Jazz. In the previous head-to-head with Utah, Murray finished with 17 points and 11 assists. The Jazz are tied with the Wizards for the most assists allowed per game. Utah is giving up the most catch-and-shoot threes per game over the last 15 games, leading to plenty of easy assist chances for Murray.
