Best NBA Player Props Friday’s March 29: Bet Green, Nurkic to Rebound

Thursday NBA Recap

On Thursday, the Pelicans, led by Zion Williamson, defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 107-100. Williamson scored 28 points in the win and is living up to the lofty expectations that were set on him four years ago when he was drafted.

The Hawks shocked the Celtics for the second consecutive game, outlasting Boston in overtime, 123-122. Dejounte Murray scored a career-high 44 points, including the game-winning shot

The playoff races are heating up across the NBA. There are plenty of NBA bets online to select from Friday night. Here are the best NBA prop bets for Friday, March 29.

Best NBA Player Props Today

NBA Player Prop: Warriors PF Draymond Green Over 8½ Rebounds (+104)

The Warriors’ road trip on the East Coast continues against the Charlotte Hornets. Golden State defeated the Magic on Wednesday night, and Draymond Green was ejected just four minutes into the game. I expect him to be a full-go in this soft matchup against Charlotte, against whom he pulled down 13 rebounds back in February. The Warriors will come to play with intensity because they can’t afford to lose games like this with the Houston Rockets on their heels in the standings.

Green has grabbed at least eight rebounds in six straight games. Charlotte has the fourth-lowest shooting percentage in the NBA, which correlates to more rebounding opportunities on the defensive end. Charlotte doesn’t have imposing size in the frontcourt, so Green will likely be the de facto center for most of the game. This is significant because the Hornets are allowing the second-most rebounds per game to opposing centers and the fifth-most to power forwards. This could get sweaty, but Green is a full-go and a prime bounce-back candidate tonight.

NBA Player Prop: Lakers PF Anthony Davis Over 25½ Points

I’m predicting an Anthony Davis masterclass in tonight’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers. The Lakers’ road trip continues, and Davis should return to the lineup after sitting out Wednesday’s win in Memphis. The Pacers clearly lack the size on the interior to defend someone of Davis’ caliber.

In two meetings with Indiana this season, he finished with 36 points in a 150-145 Lakers win and 41 points in a 123-109 win in the In-Season Tournament championship game.

Indiana is giving up the most points per game to opposing power forwards. The Pacers are getting bullied near the rim and allowing the most free-throw attempts per game to their opponents. Davis is in the top 10 in free throws per game. The Pacers continue to allow the most points in the paint in the NBA, and Davis scores the fourth-most points in the paint per game in the NBA. Bank on The Brow to dominate.

NBA Player Prop: Rockets PG Fred VanVleet Over 8½ Assists (-121)

I heavily considered backing Jalen Green, but the lines are too juiced for my liking. The Houston Rockets are riding a 10-game win streak when they travel to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Jazz. I’m going back to the well with point guard Fred VanVleet. Houston remains without starting center Alperen Sengun. Sengun was leading Houston in usage, so some other guys have had to step up in his absence.

Veteran point guard Fred VanVleet has been a leader and top distributor in March. FVV has 6, 4, 7, 12, 11, 16, 9, and 7 assists in the eight games since Sengun went down. The Jazz give up the most assists per game in the NBA and FVV averages 13.8 potential assists during the season, the seventh-most in the NBA. In the two prior meetings with Utah this season, he finished with seven assists in each. In the first game, Sengun was active, and more recently, VanVleet played just 28 minutes in a blowout. His recent low assists tallies could be chalked up to blowouts and early foul trouble. I’m expecting VanVleet to contribute in a big way tonight alongside Jalen Green. I’m firing up FVV again with confidence.

NBA Player Prop: Suns C Jusuf Nurkic Over 11½ Rebounds (+102)

We’re going with another big man coming off a missed game. The Phoenix Suns’ road trip continues tonight in Oklahoma City. Phoenix is in the midst of an extremely difficult schedule stretch but they are coming off of a massive road win in Denver. Jusuf Nurkic sat out that game but is expected to return to the starting lineup tonight. He has exceeded this line eight of his last 14 healthy games, including a 21- and 22-rebound game. Since the All-Star break, he has been over this line in eight of 15 healthy games, including a franchise-record 31-rebound performance at home against the Thunder on March 3.

The Thunder allow the fifth-most rebounds per game to opposing centers. Nurkic averages 19.1 rebound chances per game, tied for the fourth-most in the NBA. OKC has listed Shai-Gilgeous Alexander as doubtful and this should lead to more missed shots from the Thunder and more rebounding opportunities for Nurk. The Thunder recently gave up 15 rebounds to Amen Thompson in the first game without SGA. Count on Big Nurk tonight!
