Brown was part of that second-half swoon against the Thunder, missing his final eight shots in what became the Celtics’ worst offensive showing of the season. Before OKC’s tremendous defense figured out what to do with Brown and others, the star wing had 21 points in the first 16-plus minutes.

Brown averaged 33.3 points in a four-game stretch just prior to New Year’s Eve before a shoulder strain became an issue. While the shoulder may have seized up in the second half on Sunday, it was not a problem early on against the league’s best defense and he’ll get hot again real soon.

Denver is most decidedly not the league’s best defense (24th in scoring) and Brown has loved his matchups with the Nuggets. He’s reached 20 points in eight of the last 10 meetings, including a 2023-24 season-high 41 in his last trip to Denver.

2. Jonas Valanciunas Under 10.5 Points (-104)

The Wizards host the Rockets on Tuesday, which gives us an opportunity to lean into Houston’s solid defense. We’re isolating Jonas Valanciunas as one guy who could have a hard time getting his buckets.

Kessler has been a big part of Utah’s improved play. He has double-doubles in four of his last five – including the two in the Sunshine State sweep – and 10 total since returning from a hip injury just before Thanksgiving.

The big man has hauled in an average of 13.9 rebounds over his last seven games. He is up against an Atlanta squad that takes a lot of shots and is only average when it comes to accuracy. That often leads to big board numbers for opponents.
