An injury to one player, a late collapse by one team and a no-show by another sank a few of our picks on Wednesday. But after Thursday’s action, every team will have played at least one game and we’ll begin to nail down some trends. It’s a great night to visit the BetUS Sportsbook, and here are three of our best offerings. Also be sure to visit our NBA picks page for expert opinion on several games.
3 NBA Player Props Picks for Thursday 10/24
1. Victor-y Formation, Bet on Wemby Over 4.5 Assists
We have targeted a Victor Wembanyama bet online for one reason and one reason only. It’s just an excuse to share this incredible video from Bleacher Report of the Spurs superstar saving Chris Paul from … oh, just watch the video.

Once you’re done with that gem, consider some Wemby wagers as San Antonio visits Dallas in the opener for both teams. One in particular has caught our attention.
While the addition of Paul figures to open up loads of scoring opportunities for Wembanyama, we also note how much the big man improved as a passer himself last season. He averaged 5.3 assists per game after the All-Star break, 6.8 in five April games and seven total in 40 preseason minutes.
The over/under on his assists against the Mavericks tonight is 4.5. The Spurs averaged 126.5 points in four games against Dallas last season. There figures to be some points on the board in this one and Wemby will be involved in just enough to put this pick over the top.
Bet on Victor Wembanyama Over 4.5 Assists (-112)

2. Nikola Jokic Under 1.5 3-Pointers
From one star big man to another, we’re eyeing Nikola Jokic’s first game of the season against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder. His over/under on made 3-pointers sits at 1.5, obviously a very doable number to top for the three-time MVP but also one worth taking a look at.
Jokic was just 2-for-8 from the arc in nearly 100 minutes of preseason action, in case that means anything to you. If it doesn’t, it might be worth noting that he made exactly one 3-pointer in each of three matchups with the Thunder last season, just short of his season average of 1.1.
This is the kind of wager that can be shattered with just two open looks early on, but if you factor in some of these aforementioned trends you might be able to breathe a sigh of relief when the final horn blares.
Bet on Nikola Jokic to Make Fewer Than 1.5 3-pointers (-162)
3. Parlay These Underdogs
Home underdogs usually underperformed last season, with all teams posting a collective 22 games under .500 against the spread in that role. However, in these topsy-turvy early days of the season, when emotion and energy can sometimes be more of a deciding factor, we like two of them to overcome those NBA odds on Thursday.
We begin with lowly Washington going up against mighty Boston. A mismatch of massive proportions between teams that may finish 50 games apart this season. But consider that the Celtics, if they are in fact human, will be playing in a vastly different circumstance than the one on opening night when they got their rings, raised their banner and then rode a wave of enthusiasm to a rout of the Knicks.
Going from that party atmosphere to a road game against one of the worst teams in the league will lead to some lulls. And you have to figure that the Wizards will have plenty of energy, hoping to give the home crowd something to cheer for in their opener. They were within four points in one loss to Boston last season and within 10 in another. Let’s give them a chance at staying within 13 at home.
The other home dog we like is Sacramento. Like Washington, the Kings have yet to play and will be riding the energy wave in the opener at home. They’re breaking in a new look with DeMar DeRozan added to the Domantas Sabonis-De’Aaron Fox, creating a potent Big Three in the Golden State capital.
Sacramento is getting a couple of points against a Minnesota team coming off a season-opening loss at the Lakers. The Timberwolves figure to have plenty of good stretches this season but they had some offensive lapses in their opener. It might take a few more games to find rhythm in the post-KAT era.
Bet on Washington Wizards +13½ and Sacramento Kings +1½ Parlay (+263)
Questions Of The Day
Which player in action on Thursday could be primed for a breakout?
Jokic’s teammate, Julian Strawther, is coming off a massive preseason. He led the NBA in points (94) while burying 13 of 26 3-pointers. The second-year pro got off to a solid start as a rookie before injuries set in. Strike while he’s healthy and know that he has plenty of cagey vets around him that will find Strawther in good spots.
