Another mixed bag of a night on Thursday, but we managed to secure at least one win on the NBA bet slip. It’s a pretty packed night of action on Friday, with notable clashes that include some pretty significant storylines in New York (KAT vs the Wolves) and Miami (Butler returns).

Let’s scour the odds and find the top NBA player props for Jan 17
3 Best NBA Player Props to Bet Today
1. Kristaps Porzingis Under 17.5 Points (-114)
While the Celtics struggle to rediscover their dominant form, we’re going to prey on their issues a bit. We nailed a Jayson Tatum under earlier this week and think there’s an opportunity for Porzingis to fall flat – so to speak – against Orlando on Friday.
The Magic are a stifling defensive crew (they won 108-104 against Boston last month) and particularly excel in two areas – close to the basket and far from it. Porzingis, of course, jacks a lot of 3-pointers while occasionally using his 7-3 frame for some good underneath.
Porzingis was held to 2-for-10 shooting in that visit to Orlando in December. He got to 17 points only because he had a boatload of free throws but it was the third straight time the Magic have held him below the number laid out in this NBA bet.
Boston, a seemingly unstoppable offensive machine earlier in the season, has been held under 100 points in three of its last five. Someone will be stifled in this one and Porzingis is a good option.
Oh, check the NBA news updates for any lineup decisions. The Celtics are playing the front half of a back-to-back (Atlanta visits on Saturday) so they could choose to rest someone here.
2. Austin Reaves Over 6.5 Assists (-132)
Simply following some strong trends here, as Reaves has been dishing dimes at an elite level lately. Since Christmas only two players – Trae Young and Nikola Jokic – are averaging more assists per game than Reaves at 9.6.
The third-year standout was given the primary point guard duties earlier this season and handed even more of a mandate in that department when the team shipped away D’Angelo Russell last month. He took his playmaking to a new level just before the deal and seemingly isn’t slowing down, piling up 14 assists in Wednesday’s win over the Heat.
AUSTIN REAVES ALLEY-OOP TO LEBRON!!!

The Nets started their two-game stay in Los Angeles with an embarrassing 126-67 loss to the Clippers. The Lakers should put some points on the board against this bunch and Reaves will be the driving force. Make sure to include Reaves in your NBA player prop picks tonight.
Bet on Austin Reaves Over 6.5 Assists (-132)
3. Drew Eubanks Over 7.5 Rebounds (-141)
Walker Kessler is sitting this one out for rest purposes, which should give Eubanks another start or at least some increased minutes. He started in place of Kessler two games ago and finished with eight points, nine boards and three blocks, including this gem:

Eubanks also had 11 boards in just 16 minutes last weekend at Phoenix, part of a three-game run in which he’s averaged 9.3 rebounds. The Pelicans, Utah’s opponent on Friday, often allow opposing big men to pile up the boards. Let’s place a bet online on Eubanks being the next to do so.

Question of the Day
What are the top matchups this weekend?
The Cavaliers will try to rebound from their loss in Oklahoma City with a tough test at Minnesota on Saturday. There should be plenty of emotion when the Lakers and Clippers meet for the first time this season in their fire-ravaged city on Sunday.
