Khris Middleton had the first scoreless game with at least 10 minutes played in nearly 11 years and Daniel Gafford had a season low in rebounds against the team that allows the most rebounds in the NBA. That’s what it took to sink our NBA bet slip on Tuesday.
Knowing how wild those results were, we’re still confident in the approach and hopeful that today’s top NBA prop picks will yield a better result.
3 Best NBA Player Props to Bet Today
1. Trae Young Over 2.5 3-Pointers (+106)
Young has seen a notable drop in his scoring and a sharp rise in his assists as he adjusts his game with the improving Hawks. He’s also seen a steep drop-off in his 3-point accuracy, which has plummeted to a career-low 31.0 from 37.3 last season.
Trae has some history at Madison Square Garden and it’s a great place for him to try to find his stroke. He’ll be playing the villain, a role he’s embraced several times over the years in Manhattan.
Earlier today, I asked Hawks’ Trae Young how fun it’s been to lean into the “villain” role against Knicks fans.
“It’s cool. I don’t like being a villain. I don’t like being that way…I don’t think I turned myself into a villain, I feel like people turned me into a villain.” pic.twitter.com/jTR3nWGI9c

Young had 23 points with three 3-pointers in an earlier win over New York. While not many are going in, he’s attempting 8.9 per game over the last seven contests and with the extra juice involved in this NBA Cup game, he might feel compelled to fire away a bit more.
The Knicks can lock down opponents pretty well but they have some soft spots that just so happen to be hot zones for Young. He loves the right corner 3-pointer (7-for-15) and New York lets opponents make an NBA-high 47.4% from that spot. The Knicks have given up the most made field goals in the league between 20-24 feet (well, tied with the Hawks), and Young takes nearly three attempts from that region per game.
If anything, cheering for Young to run it up in MSG makes for a very exciting NBA prop bet.

2. Jonathan Kuminga Under 17.5 Points (-124)
The first time Kuminga faced the Houston Rockets this season he scored 23 points. The second time Kiminga faced the Rockets he scored 33 points. So why would we take the under on this NBA bet? Well, the hunch is strong with this one.
Actually, it’s a little more than a hunch. Kuminga did his damage in that first matchup off the bench when a Steph Curry-less starting five was struggling. That game was a shootout, relative to how stingy these two teams normally are on defense.

In the second matchup, Kuminga was in the starting lineup but again Curry was absent and Buddy Hield was ice cold. Curry is back in there, coming off another vintage effort and ready to take up his fair share. Kuminga excels in close but that’s where Houston normally dominates defensively. He won’t be sneaking up on the Rockets this time around and we think he settles in around his scoring average (15.0) or lower against one of the top defenses in the league.
Bet on Jonathan Kuminga Under 17.5 Points (-124)
3. Steph Curry Under 5.5 Assists (+100)
This is a precarious one as Steph Curry averages 6.6 assists per game. But the Rockets give up the fewest assists per game in the NBA and allowed the Warriors to amass only 19 in their last meeting, making the NBA odds here enticing.
Passing in general is not as much of a thing against Houston as they defend those lanes so well. It’s a lot more of an isolation, long dribble, chuck up a late 3PTR kind of thing when you’re up against the Rockets. That might help Curry in the scoring department if he’s feeling it, but we think he could be a bit lower in this one area. Take the under as my last NBA expert pick today.

Question Of The Day
Which game market bet online works for Wednesday’s games?
The Rockets are 9-3 against the spread at home. They’re rested, back home for the first time in 10 days and coming off a solid win at the Clippers. They’ll win by three or more, making this another winning bet.
