3 Best NBA Player Props to Bet Today

1. Tyler Herro Over 23.5 Points (-117)

Herro is enjoying his best season as a pro as he carries the Heat through the early portion of the season. He’s gone over 30 points in three of his last five games and is averaging 26.0 points over his last seven contests.

Two of those games were with the Raptors, one game in Miami and another in Toronto. Herro put up 54 points in the two games (quick math tells us that’s 27.0 per game) on 50% shooting with a 10-for-22 effort (45.5%) from the arc.

Need a few more numbers? During Miami’s three-game winning streak, Herro is shooting 58.0% and is 15-for-29 (51.7%) from long range. He got to the line nine times (making all nine attempts) in the big win over Cleveland on Sunday, and the Raptors allow the most free throw attempts per game in the NBA. They also give up the most corner 3’s, which isn’t always Herro’s favorite spot but he did nail a couple of them at Toronto on Dec. 1.

Herro has gone over the 23.5-point mark in exactly half of his 22 games, but when he’s short he’s often barely short. He’ll get close to the mark with ease and has every opportunity to go well beyond it, making this a solid option for your NBA betting slip.

Bet on Tyler Herro Over 23.5 Points (-117)

2. Jayson Tatum Over 3.5 3-Pointers (-106)

Tatum and the Celtics will be playing for the first time since Saturday, giving the superstar plenty of time to get some energy back in those legs. He had a 6-for-21 shooting effort his last time out so perhaps some rest was warranted.

A lot of guys in this league see their numbers actually suffer following long layoffs. They need rhythm and action to stay hot, and a few days off can just lead to rust. Look at some split stats if you don’t believe us…there are loads of players whose best numbers come on the second half of a back-to-back.

Tatum is an exception here. For his career he shoots 40.4% from long range with at least three days off, compared to 37.1% with less rest. He buried six 3-pointers in his one matchup with the Pistons this season and loves to spot up in that above the break zone, which just so happens to be the area where Detroit allows the highest percentage of makes (38.1) in the league.

JT will be firing away, and we love these NBA prop odds for him to hit the over.

3. Dejounte Murray Over 21.5 Points (+100)

With the Kings in New Orleans to face the Pelicans we’re looking at a possible shootout. Sacramento, by locking in possession after possession, reached the 140-point mark in each of its last two games, and New Orleans – the lowest-scoring team in the league – has shown a slight uptick of late as Murray settles back in.

The star guard was injured in the season opener, missed 17 straight games, and has now been back for seven contests. That’s enough time to shake off the rust and Murray’s finding his form, averaging 20.5 points and 6.3 assists over his last three games.

The first-year Pelican shot just 6-for-20 his last time out but we simply like the fact that he took 20 shots – a season high. Like Tatum above, Murray spots up above the break often, and no team in the West gives up more above-the-break 3’s than the Kings (10.8).

New Orleans figures to be playing catchup all night against the league’s hottest offense and that will lead to a bunch of quick shots. Murray will get his share of those and if just enough go in then you have another winning NBA pick today.
