Bucks Ride Streak into L.A.

Defending NBA Champion Milwaukee Eyes Fourth Win in Row

Defensive Struggles Plague Lakers

The reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks have been starting to find a rhythm lately. They are currently on a three-game winning streak after scoring 137 points in back-to-back games. On top of that, they are winners of seven of their last nine.

The same can’t be said about the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite being championship favorites in the sportsbook during the offseason, they are below .500 and have lost four of their last six.

However, they did just win a big overtime game against the New York Knicks the last time they hit the floor. Maybe this will be the game where they start to find their footing? Let’s take a closer look at this NBA game betting preview.

Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Lakers

  • Game: Milwaukee Bucks (34-21) at Los Angeles Lakers (26-28)
  • Location: Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles
  • Day/Time: Tuesday, 10 p.m. ET
  • Television: TNT

Bucks Own Incredibly Talented Offense

Milwaukee is the fourth-highest scoring offense in the NBA right now and should have an easy time with the Lakers’ feeble defense. Most of that comes from the wildly efficient Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He averages 28.9 points, 11.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 53.6 percent from the field. His three-point shot needs quite a bit of work (at 29.5 percent) but overall, he is their most dynamic weapon.

It also helps that the Bucks have two more primary scoring options in Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Middleton adds on 19.4 points and Holiday throws on 18.0 points per contest.

Milwaukee can definitely outscore any opponent that comes their way.

Lakers: No Chemistry

It is becoming more and more clear that the currently constructed Lakers team isn’t going to go far in the playoffs. The entire roster outside of LeBron James hasn’t looked all that competent.

Anthony Davis has missed a lot of time due to varying injuries and Russell Westbrook just isn’t fitting in with this group. In fact, Westbrook has been benched a few times during the final few minutes of games because of his poor shooting.

He is hitting on just 43.7 percent of his shots from the field and 30.0 percent from deep. If Los Angeles wants to turn things around, it needs to either trade Westbrook or come up with a different offensive game plan for him.

Right now, the Lakers don’t look like a good option if you bet online – unless you’re getting lots of points.

Bucks Four-Point Favorites

These lines aren’t very surprising considering how dominant Milwaukee has been offensively and how bad Los Angeles has been defensively. The Lakers are ranked 26th in the league in points allowed per game.

It is why they attempt to just go out and try to win with sheer offensive talent, something that gets incredibly difficult to do when going against a team so poised offensively like Milwaukee.

The Bucks should win this game by more than four points, so take them with your NBA picks. Also, the total is at 230.5 for this upcoming game. Considering the star power on this team, the over looks good too.
