Golden State Riding Four-Game Win Streak

Warriors Get Swagger Back

The Golden State Warriors continue their four-game homestand by welcoming the Boston Celtics to the Chase Center on Wednesday.

Draymond Green’s long-awaited return helped spark Steph Curry’s best performance of the season as the former MVP erupted for 47 points in Monday’s 126-112 win over the Washington Wizards.

Take a look at our NBA betting preview for the Celtics vs Warriors as we analyze the key matchups, injury updates and market prices for this game.

Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and NBA odds for Celtics vs Warriors. We’ve plenty of predictions for you to consider.

Warriors Get Band Back Together

Things were looking pretty grim for the Golden State Warriors in the lead-up to the All-Star break.

The team was struggling to string together back-to-back wins and they looked a far cry from the team that was so impressive at both ends of the floor to start the season.

One thing I’ve remained vocal about on our BetUS NBA Show was that we needed to reserve judgment on the Warriors until they got their core back together. With Green and Klay Thompson now available again, we should see the best of the Warriors to close out the regular season.

Even with their mixed run of form over the past couple months, the Warriors still boast a 20-14-2 ATS record on their home court. They also own a league best +11.5 average margin at home.

Steve Kerr’s side also own an impressive 15-9-1 ATS record against Eastern Conference opponents, which is the fourth best strike rate among NBA teams in non-conference play.

Tatum’s MVP Form Carrying Celtics

The Boston Celtics turned a very clear corner after a rocky start to the season under new head coach Ime Udoka.

Since blowing back-to-back home games to lowly Charlotte and Portland in late January, the team has responded by going 18-4 straight up in their last 22 games. This is the first time during that run, however, that they are market underdogs.

The sportsbook odds on the Celtics have been very aggressive, which isn’t surprising given the team’s elite defense played during that span.

Since the start of the new year, the Celtics are ranked No. 1 in defensive rating and own a league-best net rating of +11.2. For comparison, the closest team to them in that stretch are the NBA-leading Phoenix Suns, who own a +9.7 net rating.

Jayson Tatum has been on a scoring spree in the past month and his offensive play has certainly helped make the Celtics one of the most feared teams in the league.

Since returning from the All-Star break, Tatum is averaging 33.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The Celtics are 10-0 during their recent 22-game surge when Tatum scores at least 30 points.

Celtics vs Warriors Head-to-Head

The Warriors ran out 111-107 winners in the early-season meeting between these sides at the TD Garden. Those familiar with NBA betting will know that the game ended on a push with the betting markets closing on a four-point line that night.

That snapped a streak of five straight wins for the Celtics in this series, with Boston completing back-to-back season series sweeps against the Warriors over the past two seasons.

In fact, the Celtics have won outright in their last three trips to the Bay Area.

Celtics vs Warriors Prediction

The Celtics are in unfamiliar territory as market underdogs here and it’ll be interesting to see how they respond to the task.

There’s no denying that a fully healthy Warriors team merits this sort of market respect, but even with Green and Thompson back, I’m not ready to say that this team is fully healthy.

Green is still on a minutes restriction and came off the bench against Washington. The team is also missing a key rotation piece with Gary Payton II still out with knee soreness while All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins is also listed as questionable with a non-COVID related illness.

If Wiggins is unable to play, that opens up a completely different dynamic in this game, with the Canadian star the most well-suited defender to match up with Tatum.

Given the situation for the Warriors and the re-integration of Green into the rotation, the value in this matchup is on a Celtics team that is very well defined in their status and play at this point of the season.

If Wiggins is out, there’s a good chance this line shifts to around a pick’em, making the current market price very favorable on the road team.

Those looking to bet online can happily grab the points on the underdogs, knowing that this game will likely be a coin flip down the stretch, which will make having those points in your pocket very valuable.

Pick: Boston Celtics +2½
