Eastern Conference Showdown for First Place

Bulls Try to Withstand Heat

The Chicago Bulls have yet to beat the Miami Heat, which they’ll likely need to do when the Eastern Conference playoffs begin.

Despite injuries to a few of their star players, the Heat are favored by four points to improve to 3-0 against their Eastern Conference rivals, so it shapes up as an intriguing game.

We expect most of the money at the sportsbook to come for the Heat, who are dynamite at home.

Bulls Ready for Charge

Despite coming off a 116-110 home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Chicago Bulls are well-positioned for a second-half charge.

Not having Patrick Williams and Lonzo Ball in the lineup is a concern, but there is enough talent on the roster to win against the likes of the Miami Heat.

The Bulls play a Western Conference-style of offense and rank eighth in the NBA for points scored. They score 112.6 points per game, which rates much better than Miami’s 109.4 ppg, so the Bulls have the edge in that department.

However, they’re the underdogs because Miami’s defense ranks in the top five and the Bulls are 18th. Chicago will need to limit the amount of possessions the Heat get or it could be a long night.

Leading the way is DeMar DeRozan, who has been the standout player. He is averaging 28.3 points, so look for the Bulls to run their offense through the small forward.

If DeRozan goes off, the +4 line could look silly. The Bulls are also 6-2 against the spread in their last eight meetings in Miami.

Heat Staying Hot

Flying under the radar are the Miami Heat, who are 40-21 overall and 20-7 at home.

They have won both games post-All Star break, including a 115-110 win over the New York Knicks and a 133-129 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Bam Adebayo was the standout player against the Spurs, scoring 36 points.

“I still have some work to do,” Adebayo told Sports Illustrated. “But it feels great that when you come into the league as a defender and versatile big man, to become someone who can take over a game and be a closer for your team. I just have to keep developing and getting better.”

It continues a hot run for the Heat, who have won four of their last five games. They always spread the ball around, which makes them tough to defend, but it has been their defense leading the way.

They allow only 104.8 points and they rank second in rebounds, which is why betting online markets have the Heat as favorites.

Bulls vs Heat Head-to-Head

The Miami Heat won the first meeting 107-104 in Chicago before heading home and winning more comfortably 118-92.

It has been one-way traffic for the Heat against the Chicago Bulls over the last couple of years. They are 6-1 over the last seven games and 5-2 ATS.

The bookmakers’ margin hasn’t been greater than seven points during that span, so they’re always expecting a tight contest.

Bulls vs Heat Betting Lines

Bulls vs Heat Prediction

There is something to prove for both teams, but we’re going with the Miami Heat as one of our NBA best bets.

They are tough to beat at home and they have been playing excellent basketball, so it should be enough to beat the visiting Chicago Bulls.

We would entertain taking the Heat at -5 if the line was to move, so bettors have a few points up their sleeves.

It should be a low-scoring affair, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Heat score a 108-102 victory.

Pick: Miami Heat -4
