Clippers Our NBA Pick of the Day Against Warriors

This is a very interesting stretch of games for the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors. They both played the Sacramento Kings in their last game, giving insight for betting online on this game, but they will also match up in back-to-back games with a home and away split.

The Clippers beat the Kings 131-117, putting on an impressive performance in all aspects of the court. However, the Warriors dropped their game against the Kings, giving up a game-winning shot with seven seconds left, losing 124-123.

Clippers Needed Big Win

There is so much that the Clippers still need to figure out, which has made them a difficult team for NBA predictions. Since acquiring James Harden, Los Angeles has searched for a blend to make things work between its four All-Stars.

After losing the first five games with Harden, moving Russell Westbrook to the bench seems to have paid off, leading to the Clippers winning five of their last seven games. However, the previous two games have been iffy, showing why NBA odds are still indecisive about the team.

Two games ago, the Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets, 113-104. It was a poor offensive showing, with Harden and Paul George combining for just 17 points. Kawhi Leonard did have a big game with 31 points, and Westbrook had a 14-point triple-double off the bench, but the Clippers still lost. The loss stung a bit more because the Nuggets were down three starters, including Nikola Jokic, which should have helped the Clippers win.

That surprising result might have inspired the Clippers to put together a much better offensive performance against the Kings. Leonard again had a big game, with 34 points, but this time Harden and George combined for 45, while every starter was in double figures. Role players Ivica Zubac and Terance Mann combined for 32 points, while Westbrook had nine and eight assists off the bench.

Golden State Still Not Right

In the first half of the loss to the Kings, it looked like the Warriors had put many of their issues behind them, up 72-55. Golden State has only three wins over the last 12 games, including a six-game losing streak. That run has affected how the team is viewed for NBA picks and parlays.

Part of that slump was Stephen Curry missing three games due to injury and Draymond Green being suspended for five. However, while those two absences played a role in the slump, they were far from the only reason. Outside of Curry, no one on the roster has averaged over 15 points per game since Nov. 5, the closest being Klay Thompson at 14.7.

In the loss to the Kings, Curry finally got some extra help with the addition of Green returning from his suspension. Thompson had 20 points and nine rebounds, while Andrew Wiggins had a great game, scoring 29 and grabbing 10 boards. Still, Curry was tied for the lead in points and rebounds, leading the team in assists with six.

However, in the game’s final seconds, a turnover by Curry and Green led to two clutch baskets for the Kings, handing the Warriors their loss. First-half NBA lines have started to improve for Golden State, but the rest of the game could be a pause for bettors.

Clippers vs Warriors Best Bet

Neither team in this game has done much to inspire confidence in NBA picks. The Clippers have played well recently but are inconsistent and still figuring things out offensively, while the Warriors haven’t played great over the last 12 games.

However, the Clippers’ win did show what this team could be when functioning well. That might motivate them to have another solid game against the Warriors, who are 3-6 at home.
