Count on the Clippers to Cover Versus the Heat

The L.A. Clippers enter Miami as a slight betting favorite. They have gone 4-1 on their current East Coast road trip and are 5-3 with a +6.7 net rating when visiting their Eastern counterparts. Given their slight spread, the Clippers are a solid NBA expert pick. Add to this that this team has done well against Miami in recent meetings as the home team continues to struggle.

Here’s a look at some NBA games odds to consider!

The Clippers are 2½-point favorites per the NBA point spreads on Feb. 4. This is not a bad line. Miami is 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in its last nine games and is 9-5 ATS at home. The Heat are still a tough underdog when healthy, hence why the book is giving it plenty of respect with the tight line. The total of 227 points is also in response to these teams’ top-tier defenses.

Clippers vs Heat ATS Pick: Clippers -2½

No Zubac? No problem. The Clippers have taken the loss of their starting center with stride and are continuing to win. Having Plumlee in the middle instead of Zubac may be worse defensively. But it’s much better for scoring as the Clippers have a whopping 125.1 offensive rating in their last eight games.

Overall, the Clippers have been winning with ease. They are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games and the only hiccup here is a loss to Cleveland, which has won 12 of its last 13 games. Miami has been anything but hot, on the flip side. The team traded for Terry Rozier but he’s struggled: 10.8 points on 30.9% shooting. Miami is 2-4 since this deal.

Miami’s defense has also slipped (118.7). Despite being mostly healthy, Miami is tough for betting online given its issues on both sides. The Clippers should roll with no issues.

Clippers vs Heat Over/Under Pick: Under 227

The Clippers are putting up nearly 124 points in their last eight games. But the Heat have managed just 105 points. Scoring between these teams has also typically been low with the average total being at 220 points in their last three meetings. Go ‘under’ what the NBA lines have it.

Clippers vs Heat Player Prop Pick: Mason Plumlee Over 1½ Assists

We like betting the “over” on some props listed with low totals on the NBA odds. Plumlee’s assists should be higher given his abilities. He won’t get many touches but Miami allows 28+ assists in its last three games. Plumlee will get dimes.
