The Golden State Warriors are attempting to improve to 2-0 when they play host to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night. Warriors fans were ecstatic with their performance against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, and it was Steph Curry doing most of the damage. That’s what the Clippers have to contend with in their season opener, and NBA betting odds have the home side favored to win at Chase Center.

Curry Lighting It Up
It was only the first game, but Curry has already made an impression.
The superstar recorded a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He was all around the court and the determining factor in the 121-114 road win vs the Lakers.
“We kept our composure and didn’t turn the ball over in the second half, which was a huge benefit to just maintaining the pace and giving ourselves some looks,” Curry told ESPN.
“But the fact that everybody who was on the floor contributed in a meaningful way kind of speaks to our depth and how we want to play going forward. We’re excited about that and it’s good to be 1-0.”
Despite trailing by six points at the half, the Warriors dug deep and put the Los Angeles Lakers to bed. The Western Conference favorites were poor in the second half, but that was due to the pressure the knock-down shooters of the Warriors put on them.

Jordan Poole has seemingly made the transition to an effective scorer after he dropped 20 points. He shot 4 of 11, so if Poole can replicate the goods, the Clippers could be in trouble.
The sportsbook has the Warriors at -3 against the Clippers, which is a fair line. The Warriors have already played a game, so rust shouldn’t be an issue. They also play their first game at home, and the crowd is loud enough to add a couple points to the score.
Clippers Vulnerable Without Leonard
Not having Kawhi Leonard on the floor is a big disappointment for Clippers’ fans, but they are getting respected in betting markets.
Without Leonard, we thought the Clippers would be +6 underdogs, so there is a fair amount of support for a road victory.
The Clippers still have a capable roster, including Paul George, Marcus Morris Sr., Reggie Jackson and Eric Bledsoe. However, it could take them a few games to find their rhythm.

It’s a new-look Clippers outfit, and we question whether it will work straight off the bat. The Warriors are already up and running with a win on the board, so the Clippers could get caught off guard.
We don’t think there is much value in betting the Clippers at +3. We priced them as +6 underdogs, so the lines could move with the reaction to the Warriors’ opening victory.
Clippers vs Warriors Betting Trends
There are some bright lights for the Clippers in the betting trends department. They are 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings in Golden State.
They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games, and 5-2 ATS as an underdog. However, there are some overwhelming statistics in favor of the Warriors.
They are 8-0 ATS in the last eight games overall, 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a favorite, and 6-0 ATS in the last six home games.
Clippers vs Warriors Pick
Our NBA betting preview is siding with the Warriors to score a comfortable win at Chase Center.
We loved what we saw from Curry, who continues to play at the highest level. We also liked what Poole offered in the opening game, so if that form continues, we can’t see the Clippers sticking with him.
Playing at home is a huge advantage and the -3 line isn’t high enough to have us worried.
