Beal Continues To Lead Washington

Bradley Beal is having a career-defining season with the Washington Wizards. The small guard is averaging 33.2 points per game and he is starting to get plenty of help from Russell Westbrook.

Despite not scoring in the high numbers, Westbrook is doing plenty of good. He is averaging 9.9 rebounds and 9.6 assists per game, which has seen Washington’s record improve to 13-19.

However, the main reason why Washington has improved is Beal. He is having a great year and posting an 89.9 percent free-throw percentage only adds to his appeal.

Washington has suffered back-to-back losses to the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies, but it had won three of its last four games prior to that. A quality win over the Los Angeles Lakers was followed by a win over Denver Nuggets, so there is plenty to like about the Wizards.

Clippers Struggling For Quality Wins

It has been a solid season for the Clippers, but they have struggled to produce quality wins over the last couple of weeks.

They have lost three of their last five games with the wins coming against Washington and Memphis. The Clippers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks last week before losing to Boston without Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard’s availability is important and back spasms are never enjoyable. His status is unknown at this stage, but the Clippers would dearly love their leader when trying to snap a two-game losing streak.

The Last Time They Met

It has been just over a week since the Wizards and Clippers did battle on the court, which resulted in a 135-116 win for Los Angeles.

Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting and Beal scored 28 points on 12-for-24.

The Clippers established a 16-point lead after the first quarter and the Wizards couldn’t bridge the gap. They made a comeback in the third quarter when scoring 39 points, but they allowed 36 points in the final quarter to seal their fate.

There wasn’t much between the teams, but Washington will need to be better on defense. It allowed the Clippers to shoot 57.4% from the field and that won’t be winning them many games.

There was also a huge rebounding advantage to the Clippers (53-38), so that needs cleaning up for Washington fans.

Betting Pick

There is some panic setting in with the Los Angeles Clippers and Washington could take advantage. The Wizards are not an easy team to trust, but if they play some sort of defense, they have the scoring power to beat any team.

NBA betting markets will have the Clippers as favorites, so take the value with Washington with the addition of home-court advantage.

Pick: Wizards 121, Clippers 118
