Friday’s NBA Player Props: Holmgren, AD Top Picks

The NBA delivered more memorable moments during Thursday’s action. We cashed two of our three NBA predictions on Thursday, and I’m back breaking down Friday’s 10-game slate, looking to cash a sweep with my basketball bets online today.

Friday NBA Recap

On Thursday, the New York Knicks defeated the 76ers as Jalen Brunson continues to receive “M-V-P chants” in arenas on the road. The Pacers cruised to a win over the Pistons and the Celtics won their season-best seventh consecutive game coming out of the break.

The Mavericks also came off the break on fire, defeating the Phoenix Suns 123-113.

The Thunder coasted by the Clippers to strengthen their positioning in the Western Conference. Zion Williamson and the Pelicans soared over the Rockets with ease, and Nikola Jokic made history.

The Nuggets defeated the Wizards behind a Jokic triple-double, giving him at least one triple-double against every opponent in the league. Speaking of triple-doubles, Domantas Sabonis had his NBA-leading 19th of the season in the Kings’ victory over the Spurs.

For Friday night’s schedule, 14 of the 20 teams in action will be on the second night of a back-to-back.

The standings out West will be a constant battle over the final two months.

There are plenty of NBA player prop bets to select from Friday night, so let’s not waste more time. Here are the best NBA player props tonight.

Best NBA Player Props Today

1.Thunder PF Chet Holmgren Over 15 ½ Points (-130)

Oklahoma City takes the floor against the Washington Wizards. On Thursday night, we watched Nikola Jokic practically sleepwalk his way into a 21-point triple-double against the Wizards’ pathetic defense. Chet Holmgren remains in the NBA Rookie of the Year odds race, and a big performance in a soft matchup like this can help his case.

He has played at least 30 minutes in five of his last seven games on a back-to-back. He has scored at least 16 points in 33 of 55 starts, including a 31-point showcase back in January against the Wizards on the road. Washington has the fourth-worst defensive rating in the NBA. The Wizards have allowed the most points per game to opposing big men. This is a smash spot for Holmgren.

2. Warriors PF Draymond Green Over 6 ½ Rebounds (-148)

The Warriors host the Charlotte Hornets on the second leg of a back-to-back. Golden State comfortably defeated the Lakers on Thursday night, and Steph Curry was the only Warrior to play over 30 minutes. Draymond Green played just 21 minutes in the win, so I expect him to be a full-go in this soft matchup.

Green has grabbed at least seven rebounds in five of his last six games and six of his last seven games in which he was on the floor for at least 18 minutes. Charlotte has the third-lowest shooting percentage in the NBA, which correlates to more rebounding opportunities on the defensive end. Charlotte doesn’t have imposing size in the frontcourt, so Green will likely be the de facto center for most of the game. This is significant because the Hornets are allowing the second-most rebounds per game to opposing centers. This could get sweaty, but Green is a full-go and a strong pick in NBA player prop bets.

3. Raptors SG RJ Barrett Over 20½ Points (-126)

I think this is a sneaky spot to back RJ Barrett. The Hawks allow the most points per game to opposing shooting guards (24.7 ppg). Since being traded to the Raptors, Barrett has exceeded this line in 11 of 20 games.

Where this bet catches my eye is Barrett makes his living attacking the rim. He scores 62.7% of his points in the paint. Atlanta allows the third-most points in the paint per game (56.0). Barrett has scored 23, 17 and 26 points in his last three meetings with the Hawks. I expect him to be a focal point for the Raptors attack.

4. Lakers PF Anthony Davis Over 24½ Points (-115)

I wanted this final prop to be Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley going up against the 76ers on Friday, but we’re still waiting for betting lines. As a result, I’m pivoting to the Spurs-Lakers matchup. LeBron James will return to the lineup for LA.

Davis has dominated the Spurs since joining the Lakers, scoring at least 25 points in six of his last eight matchups with San Antonio. He has scored at least 30 points in five of those. In his last six games on a back-to-back this season, Davis has scored 37, 20, 20, 31, 37 and 31 points. The Spurs’ interior defense is no match for AD as they allow the third-most points per game to opposing centers.
